25.01.2022 To brighten your rainy lockdown day! :)

25.01.2022 Another one of Ted apparently Ted would normally charge at the horses and bark incessantly. So we decided to make him do his drop in front of them- after heeling nicely past them in a loose lead walk Ted lasted 10 minutes in his drop with the horses, but then decided to eat too much grass and have a stomach upset. Top job Kendra Shalders, Ted’s a star Star in film: Ted Shalders

25.01.2022 You might have seen a new dog down at the gardens recently. Carly and Parso have had just one session with me so far, yet they’ve been practicing away like ninjas! One session in, @Carly parsons sent me this video with the commentary: Walked easily past the ducks (and swans!) previously would have been choking herself to get at them. Top job guys!! Star in film: Kashy Parsons

24.01.2022 Pauley and Murphy came to school with me today. they had a great time meeting the kids, learning some new tricks, and chilling out in the classroom. Siblings that play together, work together, stay together. check out Annie’s Dogs: Pauleytherapydogsessions on Facebook to see Pauley’s journeys of bringing joy and happiness to the world. Stars in photo: Murphy and Pauley Ruthven.

23.01.2022 In this video, participants were asked to place their dogs in a drop. Then they were told to leave their dogs and go and pat everyone else’s dropped dogs. Despite their owners patting other dogs and not being near them, the dogs had to remain in their drop. This is a short 30 second clip of a 5 minute successful activity. Stars in film: Kya Stephens (Beck Stephens) Nipper Burton (Sandy Birch Burton) ... Olive Tapscott (Maddi Tapscott) Pepper Poppe (Tamara Kennedy) See more

21.01.2022 Here’s Ollie and Andy showing off their stuff. Watch to the end - Ollie stays in his drop while Mollie jumps practically on top of him. Star in film: Ollie

20.01.2022 And here’s Ted’s loose lead walking... past the horses... first go! Kendra Shalders took us purposefully up this road to see if I could help stop Ted from charging over to the horses, pulling her arm off, and incessantly barking at them (all common occurrences everytime they’d walked past them in the past)... looks like we succeeded. Star in film: Ted Shalders

19.01.2022 Session 2. Ollie stays in his drop even while owner- Andy plays with his other dog, and throws the ball around the yard, steps over Ollie and just generally leaves Ollie. Ollie does all this just by Andy’s tone. Star in film: Ollie.

18.01.2022 Murph and Rosie show off their boundary keeping skills learnt during the three days. Your dog can get to this stage during the training - and will stay at this stage after the training ends! You just need to be consistent. Stars in film: Murph and Rosie Kelly.

18.01.2022 And here’s Pc Ibbs with Daughter Steph, and dog Fergus. Listen along to Penny’s commentary isn’t Fergus a good boy?! One thing of this training I love is how it can be applied to anything. Just use your tones, be persistent, and you no longer have to put up with the annoying behaviour you once had to put up with. Penny sent me this video today, her comment with the video was wow! No chewing tyres Star in film: Fergus Ibbeson.

17.01.2022 Ted - a ball obsessed dog - stays in his drop while Kendra Shalders throws it, teases him with it, and still he doesn’t move. (When we first started on day one, just picking the ball up was too much for Ted! In this video he shows us how far he has come in just two sessions!) Well done Ted. Star in film: Ted Shalders

16.01.2022 Yesterday’s post was all about what to do, how to prevent, and how to identify if your dog has been bitten by a snake. Feel free to join this free group where each day I share tips and tricks of puppy(and dog)hood :) https://www.facebook.com/groups/594467001156856/

16.01.2022 These photos may look like just a cool party trick, but they actually demonstrate how the 3 days and a new dog: Group Training teaches your dog impulse control, and listening via your tone- even when their favourite treats are placed on their paws and head . Stars in photos: Nipper Burton (Sandy Birch Burton) Pepper Poppe (Tamara Kennedy) ... Kya Stephens (Beck Stephens) Olive Tapscott (Maddi Tapscott) See more

15.01.2022 In case you're looking to train with me in the near future - here is an updated flyer with all the information you need to know, including: cost; what you can expect; session structures; duration; what you will need; and lots more. Have a read and reach out if you'd like to book in an appointment. ** Currently operating within Covid-safe guidelines.

15.01.2022 In this video the activity was to set up mock meet and greets (useful for when you’re out on a walk, and see a friend you’d like to talk to). Each dog was to be placed in their sit, beside their owner, and was to remain in that position, until their owner healed them off and they met another person- where they’d be asked to sit again. Stars in film: Olive Tapscott (Maddi Tapscott) Kya Stephens (@Beck Stephens) ... Nipper Burton (Sandy Birch Burton) Pepper Poppe (Tamara Kennedy) Aero Croft (@Lou Grey) See more

15.01.2022 Everyone meet Ted. My newest training partner. And darn, isn’t he cute. We’ve had one training session so far, with this 5 minute drop occurring as his homework last night. (First day of the training your dog has homework of staying in a drop for 5 minutes while you walk away and leave them). In this video Ted stays in his drop even with his sister (the brown lab) walking around him good job Ted! Star in film: Ted Shalders

14.01.2022 Ted maintained his sit even when the cat decided to get involved warning: cuteness overload great job Ted Star in film: Ted Shalders

13.01.2022 Today was Ollie’s last session. When I arrived (before Ollie got to meet me), Ollie was placed in a drop, and not allowed to move (you can imagine how difficult this is for a social pup like Ollie who needs to greet everyone!) Then I came in, walked around him, patted him, talked to him, and all the while he stayed in his drop. Top job Ollie. Great impulse control Star in film: Ollie.

10.01.2022 Irene and Ron aced this week’s grad weekly challenge. Place your dog in a drop, walk away, throw toys, and have them stay there. Top job Irene Kelly! Star in film: Murph Kelly

10.01.2022 Ted loose lead walks to match Kendra Shalders’ pace slow and fast look at that nice loop in the lead Star in film: Ted Shalders

10.01.2022 And here’s Ollie’s 3 days and a new dog’s training compilation video. Some things you’ll see in this video: - Loose lead walking. - Sit-stay-walk aways. - Drop-stay-walk aways. ... - Listening under distraction. - Meeting a new visitor without jumping. And much much more. Star in film: Ollie

07.01.2022 This video is a longer one (3:40), but watch until the end. Each dog was placed in their drop. Then their owners stepped away from them while another dog was walked around their dropped dog. Notice, their dogs are not reacting to the walking dog, or the 4 other dogs that are dropped within close proximity. At the end you can hear the unedited surprise and comments of the owners of the dogs. Stars in film: Pepper Poppe (Tamara Kennedy) Nipper Burton (Sandy Birch Burton) ... Kya Stephens (@Beck Stephens) Olive Tapscott (Maddi Tapscott) Aero Croft (@Lou Grey) See more

05.01.2022 Back with Willow. Claudia Moorfoot practices some sit-step aways and loose lead walking. We do the sit-step aways intentionally on our walks so as your dog learns it’s only on a command ie heel or free that they can move from their sit- not just when you return to them. Star in film: Willow Moorfoot.

05.01.2022 Ted learns his front gate boundary line top job Kendra Shalders! Shame I didn’t get Craig on video Star in film: Ted Shalders

01.01.2022 So yesterday Zeke and I went yabby-ing. We had raw meat out, yabbies, horses, a dam, and a lot of free space. While the boys (Murphy and Pauley) were usually in the free I kept my eye on them so they didn’t run off or eat our meat (controlling them via my tone), and when it was time to count the yabbies, I placed them in the drop shown here (so as they wouldn’t interfere- ie decide to eat our yabbies). I share our day with you, simply as an example of what this training can... lead you into- a life of having control, of having confidence, and of knowing your dog will listen to you. It takes persistence and consistency, but the three days gives you all the tools you need to continue on and get to the same level. Just ask my grads. ... oh and the final photo here shows the end result for our yabbies- a catch, kiss, and release Stars in photo: Pauley and Murphy Ruthven
