15.01.2022 This was a little gift I gave each of my clients at Xmas to remind them to 'STICK' to their health & fitness goals! So here's your reminder! Stick to moving your body daily, incorporate weight training at least twice a week & cardio workouts at least once a week.... Stick to fueling your body every day by eating a wide variety of foods from the five food groups (Vegetables, Fruit, Grains, Lean Meat & Dairy). Stick to staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day. Stick to getting at least 8 hours sleep a night. Most importantly STICK to having FUN every day! If you need help sticking to any of the above & not sure where to start, let me know I'd be happy to help you out. See more

03.01.2022 Changing behaviour requires a strong purpose, a motivator & for me it's investing in my personal health, fitness & athletic performance. Creating change forces you to be driven, to broaden your abilities & knowledge & to regularly set new goals. For years, like many I enjoyed drinking alcohol most week nights & having more than a few on the weekends. I loved the fun I would experience & the social interactions I encountered. However, I... hated the way I felt the next day, the foggy head, loss of memory, lack of energy & at times the nausea . So 12 months ago (the day after this picture was taken) I thought what if I give up alcohol for a month...better yet what if I set a goal of not drinking for a year?? Challenge accepted...a YEAR it would be! Fast forward 365 days I successfully ditched the booze & haven't looked back The process went pretty smoothly, I wasn’t tempted, I didn't miss it, I attended social events & still had fun, & I even managed to get through homeschooling 4 kids without touching a drop . My driver always being the determination to see out the goal I set. The positives more energy, more productive, stir of ambition, ate better, exercised & recovered better & slept better. Ultimately the biggest takeaway was...you don't need to listen to anyone but yourself when you're doing something different to status quo...be brave enough to do things differently I wouldn't say I won't drink again...but for now I'll try another year & see what that brings. NOTE - this post is not intended to suggest that everyone must give up alcohol...all I'm saying is that YOU have the control to make change in your life, YOU dictate the direction it's just a matter of knowing which direction you're heading & what your driving force is to get there. What's your driver? See more

02.01.2022 What if this January our decisions are based on New Year's SOLUTIONS not resolutions When we decide to solve a problem we're addressing the underlying issues, be it weight management, energy levels, muscular strength, nutrition...the list goes on. Solutions are useful, practical & set us up to take accountability & ownership of what change means to us.... When we understand WHY we are making changes to solve a problem we feel a sense of accomplishment & desire to continue finding solutions. Here's a couple of examples ISSUE - It’s too hard to get this weight off so I’ll take that miracle pill I’ve heard about. That way I can still eat everything I like. SOLUTION - Managing weight is a life-long commitment & takes time. To be sure I get the weight off in a healthy sustainable way I will seek help from relevant health professionals to develop an appropriate health & fitness program. ISSUE - I've been thinking about getting more exercise, but I just can't seem to get started. SOLUTION - Plan ahead. Make physical activity a regular part of my daily or weekly schedule & write it on my calendar. Better yet I will join an exercise group or class. By seeking solutions for our typical New Year targets we can all see more long term results & that feeling of...F*%@ yeah I did it..sorry, I mean accomplishment! What's your 2021 solutions going to be? See more
