I am in good health, full of enthusiasm and looking forward to performing your ceremony as planned! ... However, you may notice a few small changes to the way things are done. For everyones protection, I will be taking the following precautions: Strictly adhering to recommended safe health practices. Maintaining a social distance of 1.5m from yourselves and your guests. I will stand off to the side when speaking. Using separate microphones for myself & other speakers. Separate pens for all parties signing. Hand sanitiser will be provided on my signing table. All props & wedding items will be sanitised. Refraining from hugs, kisses & handshakes. Offering congratulations by way of a heartfelt cheer and a fabulous smile! Rest assured there will be no change to the high standard of professionalism, warmth and fun-loving energy that I will bring to your special day! You may not realise, but Celebrants have a lot of stuff to carry... briefcase, AMP, stand, props, signing table & chairs ... and sometimes we have to park a long way from the actual ceremony location - trudging through bush land to scenic lookouts, shuffling along hot sandy beaches, battling windswept coastal settings - ...it can be really hard work!! If youve booked me to perform your ceremony, youll most likely spot John in the background carrying heavy things, helping me setup and packdown, testing microphones and generally supporting me from the sidelines. He really is an absolute LEGEND!! 14.01.2022 Which side do we stand on? Despite the long-held tradition, the Bride does not have to stand on the left. This tradition stems from medieval times, when the groom needed to easily access his sword (with his right hand), in order to fend off neighbouring villagers who came to kidnap his Bride! Fair maidens were in short supply back then, and quite often, the Groom required the assistance of his Best Swordsman or Best Man who was standing right beside him. ... These days, there are no such rules and the side on which you stand is a personal choice. One suggestion is that the Bride does not face directly into the sun, so she doesnt squint and ruin her makeup. She may also have a more photogenic side or an elaborate hairstyle to show off to your guests. Some may prefer to see their familys faces during the ceremony, or there may be military or cultural traditions to be observed, but otherwise, the decision is completely yours! All of these little details will be worked out at your rehearsal, ensuring you feel comfortable, relaxed and ready to enjoy every aspect of your magical day!
