18.01.2022 Recently several sites on Magnetic Island have been victim of senseless vandalism far more than just the burning down of the piano at Radical Bay. It is disgusting that our prime tourism destination, which attracts visitors year round is being defaced and that signs, fences and beaches are being ruined by selfish and irresponsible people. During this past week, we have seen signs at Arthur Bay Lookout and the Signal Tower destroyed, there have been fences that protect nest...ing turtles ruined, and the piano was burnt down again. It is not good enough and our community deserves better! I am asking for anyone that has any information about this destruction and vandalism to contact Police and share it with them so that the perpetrators are held to account.

16.01.2022 I was very saddened to hear that Magnetic Island has lost one of its greats! Col Fulford passed away on Thursday a few weeks shy of his 104th birthday. His recital of the Anzac Day Ode will be one of his lasting legacies. I was fortunate enough to help Col celebrate his 100th birthday (& steal a birthday kiss )... Vale Col Fulford Magnetic Island

15.01.2022 They say you should never work with animals & children - well we proved them wrong this morning with our Animal Awareness Junior Education program as part of 2020 Festival of Stories. The first part of the session focuses on what pets need so they are safe, healthy and happy. The second part teaches children how to be safe around animals and then everyone gets a chance to meet our ambassador dogs Sunny and Harmony!

08.01.2022 Townsville City Council is committed to delivering its annual Arts and Cultural Festival, the North Australian Festival of Arts (NAFA). This year, Council will be delivering a modified version of the Festival to support the local arts community, rebuild the tourism and events sector and improve economic recovery. NAFA COVID Safe will be delivered from 18 September - 25 October 2020 and will provide an opportunity for Townsville and its neighboring communities to attend cultu...ral and artistic events that may have been cancelled due to COVID-19 while supporting the local arts industry. The Festival will include a variety of new performances including Wonderland Under the Stars, Beauty Rich and Rare, Art in the Park, plus plenty more! The full program for NAFA COVID Safe will be released in the coming weeks. To stay up to date keep following nafa-tsv.com.au

While it was closed to help slow the spread of COVID-19, the Water Park underwent some TLC including soft fall replacement and drainage improvements. ...
