13.01.2022 COVID-19 Christmas 2020 Will there be no Christmas? ... Of course there will be one! Quieter and deeper, more like the first Christmas, when Jesus was born, without so many lights on the earth but with the star of Bethlehem, with intermittent roads of life in its immensity. No impressive royal parades, but the humility of the shepherds in search of the Truth. Without great banquets, but with the presence of an almighty God. Will there be no Christmas? Of course there will be one! Without the streets full of people, but with the heart burning for the One who comes. No noise or fanfare, protests and grievances ... But living the Mystery without fear of Covid-Herod, which claims to take away the dream of waiting. There will be Christmas because God-is-with-us. And we will share, as Christ did in the manger, our poverty, our trial, our tears, our anguish and our condition as orphans. There will be Christmas because we need this divine light in the midst of so much darkness. Covid-19 cannot reach the hearts and souls of those who place their hope and their ideal in heaven. Of course there will be Christmas! And we will sing Christmas carols ..... and God will be born ..... and set us free. BEAUTIFULAAAAA It was written by Father Javier Loez, a priest from Pamplona in Spain, with whom Pope Francis congratulated on the phone for the text. Let's share it with them too

07.01.2022 TODAY IS THE FEAST OF ST ANDREW THE APOSTLE St. Andrew, also known as Andrew the Apostle, was a Christian Apostle and the older brother to St. Peter. Per Christ...ian tradition and after the ascension of Christ, Andrew went on to preach the Good News around the shores of the Black Sea and throughout what is now Greece and Turkey. Andrew was martyred by crucifixion in Patras. He was bound, rather than nailed, to a cross, as is described in the Acts of Andrew. He was crucified on a cross form known as "crux decussata," which is an X-shaped cross or a "saltire." Today this is commonly referred to as "St. Andrew's Cross." It is believed Andrew requested to be crucified this way, because he deemed himself "unworthy to be crucified on the same type of cross as Jesus." St. Andrew is the patron saint of fishermen and singers. He is also the patron saint to several countries and cities including: Scotland, Romania, Russia, Ukraine and Patras and his feast day is celebrated on November 30.
