25.01.2022 Equestrian NSW advised last week that NSW Government Health Orders effective 30 March 2020 do not prohibit the movement of horse for the purposes of engaging in exercise. One Coach has thus advised her clients that a clinic from a regular visiting instructor can go ahead with the following rules: This information may be helpful to some of you. Advice has been published by Equestrian NSW that we can now travel our horses for the purposes of exercising them. This is being inte...rpreted to mean that we can once again attend lessons with our coaches however we must adhere to the no more than two people together at any one-time restriction. This means that the April clinic can go ahead as planned but there will be restrictions in place and session times will be allocated to allow for the coming and going of horse floats. We will try to work it that only two floats are on the property at any one time and for as short a time as possible that being one rider in the arena as the next one saddles up then swap over outside the arena keeping your distance leaving one rider unsaddling while the other is riding. Please park with plenty of distance between just to be on the safe side. The following ENSW recommended restrictions will be in place at the property: Please no Spectators (except where parent and child is involved) Please wear your riding gloves (or other gloves) at all times when on the property. Please only arrive 15-20 minutes before your allotted time (just enough time to saddle up) Please leave as soon as possible after your lesson. Please wait for the rider before you to leave the arena before you enter it. This is to ensure that there are only two people in the arena thus sticking to the Govt restrictions. Please do not use the yards. Please tie your horse to your own float. Please do not use the Wash bay. To avoid handling cash money at this time, electronically transferring of funds is required.

07.01.2022 Copied from another group.. Something for all of us to reflect before the showing starts again. SHOW RING ETIQUETTE : ... Smile - yes, even if you lose. Congratulate your fellow competitors Be polite Be nice Do not address the judge - any questions must be directed through the steward or ringmaster "You get what you get and dont get upset." - refer to points one and two. Yes, even if you "deserved" to win. Ensure your horse is offered water and feed throughout the day NEVER take out your frustrations on your horse - he wasnt going around with an empty saddle. The fault lies with YOU. ( love this one) Dont refuse ribbons or prizes - if you wish to donate then back do it AFTER the event and approach the secretarys office - be discreet so as to not appear ungrateful or "holier than thou". Thank the sponsors - write a small note to the sponsor and organising committee - without them, no show. Do not park on top of other people - a sure fire way to make enemies and cause accidents Do not get on Facebook or the old grapevine and trash the judges / competition / show committee/ small child with a balloon that upset your horse - suck it up. Its called dignity. ( love this one as well) LOOK UP - watch where you are going to avoid domestics in the ring Appreciate it if your horsey (or more likely non horsey ) mum / friend / significant other / Aunty came to the show to support you. Treat them right or next time you wont have any help at all. Above all, enjoy, and remember, you take the best horse home no matter the outcome on the day. - have fun! Youre there to show off how awesome your horse is so relax and enjoy yourself. - shows are great for catching up with old friends, but also make new friends! - if you see someone struggling, offer to help them, even if its just giving them a bit of a pep talk before they go into their class. - be encouraging, especially to younger riders or people who are new to showing. - everyone has bad day and so do horses, if this happens to you thats ok, theres always going to be another show. Do not throw a tantrum if you miss a class. You are responsible for getting yourself to the right place at the right time. Clarify the ring, timing of lunches etc with the organising committee if need be but if things change and you miss the class dont take it out on them.

06.01.2022 Good advice for all

02.01.2022 BRISBANE ROYAL SHOW CANCELLED

02.01.2022 With the show scene starting to open up again now is the perfect time to think about honing and tuning our skills. Camelot ANSA & ASH Horses run several clinics through the year focussing on preparing and competing for the ANSA and ASH Rings and hosted another over this last weekend. Two day clinics, Paul Davidson reported that Saturday commenced with a presentation on training techniques, drills and goal setting before moving onto ground work and ridden drills to improve sof...tness and expression in paces. Sunday focused on Working classes with some fortunate young riders having the opportunity to get the feel of various working drills on the well known Ozi Ozi Ozi Bodacious Luke - pulled out of retirement for day - and finishing the day in a session with the mechanical cow. Three of the horses attending were also classified and accepted for ANSA Registration. We look forward to seeing them all out on the circuit very soon. The November clinic is already fully booked but Bookings are now open for the January and February clinics. Visit www.camelotstockhorses.com for more details. Photos by Rachel Davidson Thank you to Tarnee Scriven on young stallion Kerranna Benson and Angus Hill riding Bodacious Luke for allowing us to share these pictures.

01.01.2022 Returning to Competition. Shows and their committees are seeking ways and working hard to allow US to return to competition. They, show committees, must conform and work to COVIDSafe Regulations as laid down by government authorities.... The very least, in fact the absolute least, we as exhibitors and competitors can do is comply and assist. If youre not part of the solution then perhaps youre the problem? So as we progress in these uncertain unknown times read, acknowledge and work with directions provided. If we do not it is foreseeable that hard working volunteers running our shows will consider why they bothered. Lets not put them in that position.
