04.01.2022 Anzac Day 2019. This was my first time at the Frontier Wars march and I was glad I went. Participants and the overall crowd were much smaller than usual but someone that has been for several years told me the crowd reception was the warmest they have seen. It was difficult hearing the national anthem sung while standing among original inhabitants of the boundless plains who were not allowed past the barriers. Even after the service ended the police and security were reluctant to let us through to lay wreaths, though they did eventually. But it was encouraging to hear some people say you should be leading the parade.
