23.01.2022 Does your room smell stale in the morning? I know sometimes mine does! This air freshener spray could be used ay or night. The oils are great to assist in rest and sleep. So are safe to use just before sleep, and even spray onto the linen right before sleepy time. . RECIPE *500ml glass spray bottle * 15 drops lavender... * 8 drops roman chamomile * 2 tbs real vanilla essence (or vodka, but won't smell the same :) ) . Add all the oils and vanilla essence to the bottle then top with water. This activity is a great way for children to learn about aromatherapy and essential oils. . Use a variety of oils and colors to help kids learn new scents. Some fun essential oils could include: Wild Orange, Peppermint, Lemon, Rosemary, or Lavender. .... Ingredients *2 cups flour *2 cups coloured water (use whatever colouring you feel is safe to use in your home) *1 cup salt *1 tablespoon olive oil *1 teaspoon cream of tartar *5 drops of essential oils . . Instructions *Combine all ingredients, except for essential oils, in a large saucepan and stir until combined. *Once combined, put over medium heat. Using a spatula, continue to stir ingredients together until it forms a ball. 16.01.2022 I just had an incident on the road. Right outside my house. No accident, just honking horns and lots of aggression. I had to hold myself back from getting out of my car and abusing the other driver. I felt my heart rate rise and my hands and pits get sweaty. . I am usually a very calm and non-confrontational person. In fact my husband knows how much I hate confrontation he restrains himself with other people on the road just to keep me happy. (He is actually a highway patrol... policeman and has full rights to pull his badge on illegal driving, but restrains when I am there, because he knows how uncomfortable I get). . But this time I wanted to get out and let my anger out. But of course my fear of confrontation still held me back. . My body was in full stress/survival mode. My heart rate was increased, my body was itching to run or fight, I was clammy and sweaty, I came inside and thought "What oils can I use to calm myself down?" . To stay in a fight/flight mode unnecessarily for long term creates potential state of dis-ease. . So I went into the oil box and I picked out ylang ylang and lavender, put two drops of each in my hands and BREATHED in DEEPLY. The deep breath combined with the aroma of the oils had my heart rate dropping and the clammy body drying out. I rubbed the remainder on my neck and inner arm and sat back and let it soak in. . Now I am calm. Even writing this out hasn't caused a secondary anger flare as I relived the memory. . 10.01.2022 Yesterday we looked at a reed diffuser blend, today is based around a baking soda recipe. . RECIPE * 1 small mason jar * card for in the lid... * 1/2 cup baking soda * 10 drops wild orange * 6 drops fennel . Add baking soda with the oils to the jar and mix together well. Add pin holes to the card to put inside the lid. Add lid to mason jar and add to room to create a gorgeous aroma. 05.01.2022 You asked for the recipe so here it is. . Turmeric Seedy Crackers: .... Ingredients: 1/2 cup flax seeds 3/4 cup chia seeds 1/4 cup sunflower seeds 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds 1 1/2 tbs black sesame seeds 1 1/2 tbs white sesame sesame seeds 2 tbs poppy seeds 1 tbs turmeric powder (or could use 1 drop doterra essential oil) 1 tbs oregano 1 1/2 tbs onion powder 1 tbs cumin 1 tsp salt 1 1/4 cup water . Method: Preheat oven to 180 deg celsius. In a food processor blitz the flax, chia, sunflower and pumpkin seeds to break them down (not all the way to flour, but at least broken up into smaller pieces). Add in the rest of the dry ingredients and pulse to mix them through. Whilst the processor is running, slowly add the water until the mixture thickens. Line a large baking tray (or two smaller ones). Place mixture on the trays and put another baking paper layer on the top and flatten as much as possible. Use hands or rolling pin. The thinner the better for crispy thin wafer-like crackers. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Once cooked take out and cut up into squares before cooled. Best eaten fresh, but can be stored in airtight container for several days, but they will soften. You can reheat under the grill or in an oven to crispen them up again! 05.01.2022 READY FOR A SWEET yet HEALTHY TREAT??? . A paleo treat for when a sweet hankering hits you. . I actually did two 24 hour fasts this week and I loved it. But after I broke my fast with a chicken dinner tonight, I did indulge myself in one of these treats, that I had stored in the freezer. YUM!... . INGREDIENTS: * 1 cup cashews * 3 tbs honey * 2 tbs melted coconut oil * 1 tsp vanilla * 175g frozen blueberries (defrosted) * 200g dark chocolate . METHOD: Boil the kettle and soak the cashes in boiling water for 15 minutes. In a food processor blend the soaked cashews until it becomes a paste. Add the honey, melted coconut oil, vanilla essence and blueberries to the cashews and blend until all combined. Roll the mix into balls/shapes and place on a parchment-paper lined baking tray and place in the freezer. Melt chocolate in either the microwave or a double boiler. So this low tox version of the traditional car air freshener. . RECIPE:... * Thin wooden shapes (from the craft shop) * 5 drops lemon * 5 drops peppermint * 3 drops geranium . Just drop the oils on the wood and rub in. Place it in a air-tight container over night to allow the oils to soak deep in. Then hang in the car for a fresh aroma.
