25.01.2022 And a great job done by our Gunbower raceday team, Rohan and Darcy - not the easiest day when one of the horses is a hormonal mare keen to let loose with both barrels (thanks RV for that pointless Regumate ban, nice work) so it was a good job to come home with a 3rd and a 4th.

23.01.2022 Anthony bought early in Adelaide taking home lot 11, this strong, beautifully walking son of Cable Bay. This lad is out of an unraced Exceed And Excel mare, the daughter of a Group 1 winner, whose only foal to race has already won. The Cable Bays sold through the roof last week in Melbourne, averaging nearly $100k, but with a buyers market at Adelaide (and some buyers caught in traffic) we have secured this lad at a fraction of that money. 18.01.2022 Uncharacteristically muddy and sloppy conditions for Wycheproofs Derby Day meeting, so well done to everyone who worked so hard for the meeting to go ahead with an enthusiastic and it seemed completely undeterred crowd. It was nice to see our homebred Crimson Queen fight hard to notch her first placing in the 1050m maiden: this mare has been through a lot since she was orphaned at a young age and a lot of people have contributed to her becoming a placed horse. **AND ESPECIALLY THANKS TO THE YOUNG FAMILY WHO STOPPED AND WINCHED US OUT WHEN WE WERE ROADSIDE-BOGGED EN ROUTE TO THE RACES: TURNS OUT NOT ALL ANGELS HAVE WINGS!**
18.01.2022 Terrific effort by Fournaise to run a close 3rd on the border at Wodonga under Joe Bowditch. Our stable's record at Wodonga now reads 5 runners for 2 winners, a 2nd and a 3rd - luckily it is only a 9 hour round trip!

13.01.2022 We were delighted to snare this super-racey colt on Day 2 of the Adelaide Magic millions sale. This colt is by multiple Group 1 winner Hallowed Crown out of Tariks, a black-type mare who earnt over $200,000 in stake money. Most importantly, the mares only other foal has just won its last four races in a row. Pedigree overthinking not required - the familys up and running and this lad cant wait to join in! 12.01.2022 Congratulations to the owners of Luca Bratzi after the lads fighting win in the valuable 1500m VobisGold maiden at Bendigo yesterday under a canny Dean Holland ride. This son of Turffontein continues to thrive and improve with racing and is a little star to train.
11.01.2022 Nice debut run for the stable from Redeemed rattling home late under Dean Holland to just miss in the 1500m maiden on the Ballarat synthetic. Damn shame this race distance was changed from the originally programmed 1600m, but it augurs well for the Turffontein mare stepping up over further.

11.01.2022 Redeemed looked a picture today at Swan Hill Cup Day before stepping out in the time-honoured Drought-Breaker maiden. Redeemed and Dean Holland ran home really strongly for 2nd, so her drought remains unbroken but the mare has now earnt $19.7K prizemoney since joining the stable last year. Congratulation to our neighbours Kevin and Anne McCartin who took home the major prize.

08.01.2022 We are all heartbroken here at the sudden loss of our stable favourite Sanctuary. Bought cheaply as a tried horse from NSW, Sanctuary did a super job on the track for us and his terrific band of owners with 4 wins on the flat, over hurdles and over steeples, piloted by John Allen each time, as well as placing at Sandown and over the Casterton hedges. But his true calling was as a companion horse and lead pony and since his retirement he has been an integral part of the stable, guiding young horses around the track and accompanying nervous horses to the races, providing an essential calming influence. He also taught the kids to ride and to strap raceday. Sanctuary loved this life and we were hoping he would be with us for many years to come, but sadly not to be. Farewell to a much-loved friend.
