25.01.2022 Peter Dutton’s department approved Tom Hanks’ return to Australia, then he turned around and attacked Annastacia Palaszczuk for allowing him in That tells you everything you need to know about the LNP and the political games they are playing right now. Their efforts to force open the Queensland border backfired badly and now they are getting desperate. They will say and do anything.

24.01.2022 The LNP and Pauline Hanson are united when it comes to Queensland's borders. Remember when Peter Dutton backed Pauline Hanson's High Court challenge attempt to try force open Queensland's border? You just can't trust One Nation or the LNP to keep Queenslanders safe.

24.01.2022 Looks like Scott Morrison and the LNP are at it again now working to punch holes in Queensland’s border Why are Queensland and Annastacia Palaszczuk always being singled out? Most states have imposed similar, if not stricter, border closures based on medical advice. It’s time for Scott Morrison to butt out and let the Premier do her job.

24.01.2022 Chris Meibusch - Labor for Groom and Labor will fund the amenities upgrade at Nell E Robinson Park. If the LNP want to show they don't take Groom for granted they will stop dudding the club and council, and fund this project as well.

24.01.2022 Was great to catch up with Craig and Peter from the Gladstone Port this afternoon. It was valuable to hear how the industry has been doing through COVID-19 and we spoke about some of the new opportunities for the port and region such as hydrogen.

21.01.2022 The Nell E Robinson Park is a perfect example of how the LNP take Groom for granted. Despite scoring 85.5/100 for a community sports grant, it was overlooked by the LNP who chose projects in marginal and target seats. If Labor were elected, Labor would fund the $500,000 amenities upgrade because Chris Meibusch - Labor for Groom and Labor understand how important these fields are for local netball and the broader community. Only Labor will deliver a fair go for Groom. The LNP should step up and match Labor’s commitment to fund the Nell E Robinson Park amenities upgrade before Election Day on Saturday.

21.01.2022 Joined Senator Glenn Sterle and Shayne Neumann MP today to visit Toowoomba, Cecil Plains and Peaks Crossing to hear from farmers and land owners whose voices have been ignored by the LNP when it comes to Inland Rail. These communities deserve better than LNP arrogance and deserve to have their concerns heard and acted on.

20.01.2022 Last night the Senate inquiry into Sports Rorts heard evidence that Morrison was plotting with Bridget McKenzie from the start. Before successful Round 1 projects had even been announced, Morrison and McKenzie were meeting to plot out how they could pump more funds into marginal and target seats. The Auditor-General says he’s never seen this level of involvement from a PMO in a grants program. ... Labor will get to the bottom of these sports rorts and hold this LNP Government to account.

19.01.2022 Today Labor in the Senate successfully moved to order the Morrison LNP Government to provide the legal advice for Sports Rorts. Throughout the inquiry, we have heard from numerous legal experts who raised very serious concerns about whether Senator McKenzie even had the legal authority to be authorising these grants. Labor will continue to get to the bottom of these sports rorts and hold this LNP Government to account.

18.01.2022 Thanks to Luke from CQU Gladstone for showing us around this morning. Was great to hear about some of the opportunities for people in CQ.

18.01.2022 Half a million Queensland pensioners will be impacted by the Morrison LNP Government's pension freeze, beginning from today.

17.01.2022 First Pauline Hanson wanted to open Queensland’s border to Victoria, now she’s trying to discredit a vaccine that hasn’t even been released. This is just straight up anti-vaxxer dribble

16.01.2022 These reports are deeply concerning, the import restrictions are going to cost Queensland jobs across a number of industries. It’s not good enough that the LNP despite being in Government for more than six years can’t pick up the phone and fix these problems. Australian businesses and the jobs that go with them deserve better than an LNP government that tells them to go at it alone or find a different export market. The LNP needs to rein in their backbenchers, fix this problem and support Australian businesses and workers. https://www.theaustralian.com.au//f44564bf55c46a20d4229824

16.01.2022 Busy day today with Jim Chalmers MP and Joel Richters in Warwick. Caught up with branch members before meeting with the Warwick Chamber of Commerce Inc. It was great to hear from some local businesses like Jim and Jackie from Ascot Cattle, and Ross and Gary from Frasers Transport. Then ending the day with the local branch in Stanthorpe.

16.01.2022 Thank you to Senator Anthony Chisholm for holding the fort down at Wilsonton State School. So many wonderful Federal Labor colleagues here in Toowoomba today ta...lking to locals about getting a fair go for Groom. Unlike the LNP who’d rather waste money on ads than talk to actual people. Stop taking Toowoomba for granted and start listening!

15.01.2022 Great to catch up with Dickson Branch members last night, thanks to Jim Chalmers MP for coming along as the guest speaker. We thanked them for all their work on the State election & look forward to working with them to defeat Peter Dutton at the next Federal election.

15.01.2022 Queensland has one of the most advanced vaccines in the world being developed right in our backyard. The PM shouldn’t put all his eggs in one basket, Morrison needs to back Queensland researchers and jobs, and do a deal to secure the UQ vaccine. https://www.couriermail.com.au//ff2f938cdaaf89433e1c0a7bea

14.01.2022 Scott Morrison owes the Australian people an explanation about how deeply involved he was in sports rorts. Why does he continue to refuse to answer questions on this ?

13.01.2022 Last night Labor in the Senate ordered the Morrison Government to table legal advice about Senator McKenzie's authority to authorise grants as part of sports rorts. Labor is committed to finding out what really happened with sports rorts, here is a short summary of the report and the order for legal advice.

13.01.2022 We have learnt from emails between the Department of Health staff who questioned whether then Minister McKenzie had the legal authority to authorise the Sports Grants. Throughout this inquiry, we have heard from constitutional and legal experts who have suggested that then Minister McKenzie had no authority to authorise these grants. This discovery raises further questions of who knew what, when and why the Government apparently took no further steps to get advice on the is...sue of legal authority. Labor will get to the bottom of these sports rorts and hold this LNP Government to account.

12.01.2022 Looks like the One Nation anti-vaxxer propaganda machine has gone into overdrive They’ve got candidates up and down the state sprouting a conspiracy theory that the Premier is going to force everyone to have a vaccine that doesn’t even exist yet This is complete nonsense, but like their efforts to force open the border to Victoria, it’s also dangerous. There are scientists working hard around the world to try to save lives. They don’t need politicians spreading crackpot theories.

12.01.2022 Wrap-up of this week's listening tour in country Queensland with Senator Anthony Chisholm. If the Australian economy is to recover strongly from this recession we need regional Australia, regional Queensland, and regional industries to be a bigger part of the story.

11.01.2022 Today I spoke in the Senate about the LNP's record in Aged Care, when Scott Morrison was Treasurer he cut $2 billion from the Aged Care budget, those decisions have had real consequences. Minister Colbeck and the LNP were warned about the years of neglect and what we have seen this year is the devastation that this LNP government needs to be held accountable for.

09.01.2022 This is the moment the Minister for Aged Care turned his back on accountability and walked out of the Senate. Well, he can't keep dodging responsibility. More t...han 360 people have died in aged care homes run by the Morrison Government. Older Australians and the families who love them deserve better.

08.01.2022 Scott Morrison is up to his neck in Sports Rorts. The involvement of Scott Morrison’s office in the Sports Rorts grants program was on a scale not seen before by the Auditor-General. Labor will continue get to the bottom of sports rorts and hold this LNP Government to account.

08.01.2022 Joined the Transport Workers Union - Queensland this morning with Moreton Bay Garbo workers who are fighting for a better deal.

08.01.2022 The LNP want to help the Greens win more seats in Queensland’s parliament They are also trying to help One Nation get across the line in multiple seats. Looks like a plan to create a chaotic minority government, led by Deb Frecklington.... Story here: https://www.couriermail.com.au//f46e6b4b12a883ed3895deef79

07.01.2022 Proof that it was the LNP who delivered the Greens an extra seat at the state election. It was reckless of the LNP to risk Queensland’s economic recovery by electing more Greens MPs.

05.01.2022 At a time when Australian’s are unemployed, businesses are struggling and there are Australian’s stuck overseas trying to get back. The LNP think it’s okay to spend millions on flying Mathias Cormann around Europe in a RAAF private jet to help him get his next job.

05.01.2022 Don't let the Liberal and Nationals cut your super, forcing you to sell your home before you want to.

04.01.2022 Great to join Chris Meibusch - Labor for Groom at prepoll today. For too long the LNP have taken Groom for granted. Only Labor and Chris will give Groom a fair go.

04.01.2022 What Ms Berejiklian has done is state publicly what LNP members say privately - that Australian manufacturing isn't worth supporting. If we're going to breathe new life into our manufacturing industry and win back overseas market share, we need a Federal Government that is equally committed to manufacturing in the way Annastacia Palaszczuk and Bruce Saunders have supported Downer EDI in Maryborough https://www.frasercoastchronicle.com.au//were-not/4087358/

03.01.2022 What’s going on here? These are very serious allegations being made about the Greens Political Party misusing JobKeeper money to fund the re-election campaign of an MP. The Greens need to come out today and explain themselves to taxpayers and their supporters.... Story here: https://www.couriermail.com.au//fb1ac2afcaf8ad6792e648e680

03.01.2022 Matt Canavan & the LNP failed the test. Today, the LNP spoke against Labor’s motion to stop long-term miners from being wrongly classed as permanent casuals. You can’t trust people who say one thing in Central Qld, and do the opposite in Canberra. CFMEU Mining & Energy Australian Unions

02.01.2022 Thanks to Michael, Max and Brad for having a chat this morning at ATQLD Gladstone. It was great to hear about the all apprenticeships and trainee programs that are being run across CQ.

01.01.2022 At a time when there is almost 1 Million Australians unemployed and businesses are struggling. The Morrison Government is flying Mathias Cormann around in a taxpayer funded private jet to help him get his next job.
