25.01.2022 Bit of size on this big old girl hiding on a roof in Cabarlah Spotted going up the guttering toward some trees and then disappearing, a quick search narrowed down the hiding places until the only other option was inside. Its not only the small ones that can get in, there can be many access points for something as strong and agile as these guys. Remember for any relocations needed give me a call any time on 0411 193 164
21.01.2022 Nicely coloured Coastal Carpet Python from inside a home at Rockmount Curled up in the shade above a doorway, remember if you have screens its a great idea to keep them shut as snakes like this guy can often come inside to escape the heat. For any relocations needed of your own, give me a call any time on 0411 193 164
20.01.2022 Nice Eastern Brown Snake from inside a garage at Adare Dangerously venomous, but quick to flee unless feeling threatened. A snake this size (5 feet+) could easily come through a space smaller than a 50 cent coin, and although they are ectothermic (cold blooded) and rely on the environment to give them warmth and energy they can still be too hot, and can look for cooler places in this warmer weather. Remember I'm available 24/7 for any relocations needed, so give me a call any time on 0411 193 164
20.01.2022 Remember everyone in this weather the snakes are always going to be around
15.01.2022 Keep an eye out everyone
15.01.2022 Healthy Eastern Brown Snake from a property at Withcott Dangerously venomous, the callers did all the right things and kept an eye on it from a safe distance. When outdoors its important to keep a watchful eye on the snake you want removed, even if they take shelter under something don't assume it will still be there once you leave the area as 9 times out of 10, once what the snake thinks is a threat is gone the snake will want to get away from the area as fast as possible. ...Even tho the callers couldn't see this guy, he was still under the railway sleeper he had hidden under once spotted. Remember I'm available 24/7 on 0411 193 164
14.01.2022 A nice Common Tree Snake that had found its way into a home near Esk. Non venomous, they might strike when feeling threatened but typical behaviour is to puff their neck out to appear larger and release a bad smell to scare off potential predators. Remember for any relocations I'm available 24/7 at 0411 193 164
10.01.2022 Guys an awesome example here of the colour variations amongst our beautiful Aussie snakes They can come in a wide variety of colours even between the same species as shown here. Both Coastal Carpet Pythons, both roughly the same size, and both picked up within a couple of kilometres of each other along the top of the range in Toowoomba! Snakes like this are a good example of how it can be difficult to identify over the phone by description, as small and brown can be any number of things. In this case a harmless young python. Remember I'm available 24/7 for any relocations needed of your own, so give me a call any time on 0411 193 164
10.01.2022 Nice Coastal Carpet Python from Prince Henry Heights who managed to find a cool spot to escape the heat, just wanting to go back to sleep Remember for any relocations needed, I'm available 24/7 on 0411 193 164
08.01.2022 Juvenile Eastern Brown from inside a home at Blue Mountain Heights Dangerously venomous, this one found his way inside by way of a cat. Luckily for the snake he was unharmed, unfortunately the cat not so much. Guys its a good idea to think about ways to protect our pets and beautiful native animals from each other, I've been on plenty of callouts where birds, dogs, cats guinea pigs and even a horse have sadly been tagged by a snake and plenty where snakes have been hurt as w...ell. With a dose of antivenom at the vets costing over a thousand dollars, and many bites often needing more than one, its usually cheaper to have a snake proof enclosure before needing an expensive vet trip or worse. The snakes might be in our backyards at times but this being Australia we are also in theirs Remember for any relocations needed I'm available 24/7 on 0411 193 164
05.01.2022 A gorgeous little Bandy Bandy (Vermicella annulata) from South Toowoomba. An elapid, although weakly venomous and not considered to be dangerous to humans. These snakes are very rarely seen due to being nocturnal, and mostly subterranean. During the day they will burrow amongst leaf litter and debris, or under things like rocks and logs. However on warm or rainy nights they might be spotted occasionally. A small species growing to a maximum of around 60cm, and one of few snake species that only eat other snakes, another underground species known as blind snakes who thrive on ant eggs and termites. When feeling defensive the Bandy Bandy will throw its body into large hoop shapes as a way of trying to intimidate and confuse.
