19.01.2022 Every person who is on stress leave is there because of someone else's apparent behaviour? 'Cause and effect' could support that OR could support the lack of knowledge on how to address oppressive behaviours. One thing is for sure, once someone gets 'low', their ability to climb up and out is greatly diminished! Unfortunately friends, workmates, managers and hr are less than helpful with all kinds of responses apart from 'it will be up to you to find the way out'. We have those ways here at AntibullyingSolutions and AntiBullyingAdvocate - 0407827173 - take charge - resolve not to continue being the punching bag! If you know of someone who is being bullying / harassed, make sure they know that we can help!

16.01.2022 Bullying. Don't believe anyone who says its too hard. Seize the day, don't put up with your situation any longer, speak to Rex - by speaking to Rex - your input is totally confidential and there is no charge for the initial consultation. Check out this article published by The Age... On my first day back in the office after returning from maternity leave, my line manager said: We totally forgot you were coming back. We don't have a desk, computer or a sign on for you. We dont really know what do with you. I spent that day sitting at a spare desk doing nothing. In retrospect, this was just the beginning of the bullying"

16.01.2022 I dont agree with the wAy Andrew said it but, in that particular situation I would agree. Only problem no one understands how to address it and now escape is seen as the option. Trouble is, Julia Banks now has no strategy for next time- no role model capacity.

15.01.2022 Harassment, bullying, disconnection, putdowns, exclusion are all harmful to both parties. Certainly harmful to organisations. If you are the giver, the receiver or the manager who has almost given up, lets talk. 0407827173 - no obligation, strictly confidential!

15.01.2022 Stay tuned to an update Re the nurse, 12 months ago who solved her bully problem of 2 years over night completely only when faced with a new bully, resigning without making contact. Just how insidious the long term impact of bullying is!

14.01.2022 National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence! Antibullyingadvocate.com.au makes available free intervention strategies to people suffering the effects of antisocial behaviour. We consult to organisations where there is bullying behaviour to stem that flow. If you know of situations you are duty bound to try and help - not sympathy, not 'it will never change', but help. And we can do that - free to individuals. All we need is for them to make contact - easiest way, talk to Rex 0407827173 - completely confidential, no obligation to anything.

13.01.2022 Privilege is no escape but maybe more hidden. I've just attended a two day workshop conducted through 'Roses In The Ocean' the objective, learning how to present one's own story re suicide or aspirations of suicide. Only a small group, half only young people with way to much negative experience in life today. Stories of neglect, mostly emotional, abuse, distress - mostly emotional, established disconnection! A useful moment in time, a real boon I am sure for those in this space of looking for an out - peace from their torment. Hopefully listening to these 'real stories' will give hope, that commodity that has been it seems, such an important motivator for these 'kids'. Maybe they were victims but not now, they are rising up and taking control of their own lives and wan to contribute - amazing!

12.01.2022 If you have a situation where you go hoe each night feeling undervalued because of put downs and lack of inclusion, give mea buzz and we can all about ways to change things for you. No obligation, no cost. If you are an employer and you know you have people who do not encourage, put down or exclude people, I can help. No charge for a briefing, then we can agree (or disagree) on a way forward - Rex 0407827173

10.01.2022 Be on the alert to those around you, hear what they are saying and don't be caught just giving sympathy. It is too easy to commiserate and then move on with a different conversation, or to give some advice and think it is over. The person has to find a way to face the next day and commiserations and sympathy just don't do that in fact, regardless of your intent, they dis-empower. It is hard for everyone, you as a friend / family, no-one actually knowing what to do - well we do. No obligation and if it is about a person, then it is free - nothing lost in at least making contact. Rex 0407827173 - absolutely confidential.

09.01.2022 INTEGRITY IN QUESTIONS - Advertiser front page 17.7.20 - This is all about bullying and maybe Harassment. What a challenge! Disability - not to make light of it, one could label bullies as psychologically disabled. Now is the time for managers to become leaders; only most of them don't know what the difference is; or if they did, what to do to make the shift! It is of paramount importance. People leave the workplace daily, devalued - rebounding impacts on family & self. The ...problems within the disability sector - the Ann Marie Smith tragedy WOULD have never happened if Leaders were leading, managers were not just making the $$ work. Workplace accidents happen because people become disconnected and MUCH of that is about bullying environments. I am a liberal voter, but this is a non-partisan emergency and the government need to think more widely that just throwing money around. Cause and effect says that unless we tackle the leadership void, then NDIS will continue to be stressed as will the workers & recipients and funds. In SA we even knocked down a bulding because of bad behaviour / outcomes then transfered the people to a new one - same workers and people new building. Who is kiddig who. Same audits show same outcomes - lack of leaderhip isn't noted as the cause, just blame and fault HANDED AROUND. #bullying #decisionmaking #Leadership #foolishthinking #intergity #ndis #disability #hope #hopeless See more

08.01.2022 Mental Health - If there is bullying then there is ineffective leadership! That's all there is about it. Well that's what was top of mind and still is as a causal. I have great success is 'fixing' so called bullying situations but after I recently completed a Mental Health FirstAiders course though Mental Health First Aid, I have brought more clearly into my mind the fact the either the so called bully or victim could have some mental health issue that I will need to keep in ...mind as I plot the strategy. This further underlines the need of organisations to provide to their staff, regular workshops on anti-bulling, harassment and discrimination. It's not fair on anyone not to allow more consideration and knowledge into the diverse work environment. Let's talk about how we can support you and your people! 08.01.2022 Organisational responsibility! Safe work requires that on a regular basis, employees are given a briefing on antiBullying, discrimination and matters concerning equity and diversity. It is an employer responsibility - it may need an employee to remind their employer. Everyday people go to and return from work challenged by the behaviour they encounter. AntiBullying Solutions works with employers to make their workplace safe. AntiBullying Advocate works with individuals free - don't think it can't get better! Don't resign because you have given up! Give me a chat for a free, no hidden costs to see what you can do! Do it, don't get not 2019 going to work anxious. Rex 0407827173 https://leadershipthinking.academy/case-studies/

08.01.2022 I am afraid that too often the impact of violence in the home and bullying in the workplace is such that the receiver looses their capacity to counter that behaviour, is disempowered. This feeling of powerlessness is further exacerbated by general community and womens groups where so much attention is focused on the perpetrator. There are strategies where the 'victim' can have more influence but first the external focus of the problem has to change from the perpetrator to the... 'victims' own responsibility and that that is actually a conversation. Feel fee to make contact to talk about this. 07.01.2022 So I have added into my brands, LeadershipThinking.Academy! Why, because the push-back to a business name which included 'bullying' was severe! No one apparently has bullying happening in their organisation and IF they do, they are not saying. So bullying is largely a result of inadequate, inexperienced leadership. So, if bullying is an out come then the input must be positive Leadership and that's where we are heading now. Check out your professional development budget, pu...t Leadership on it and work out who in the organisation needs to develop their skills. It could be someone begin considered for promotion - support them into leadership! It may be someone currently at some level of management / supervision in the org, help them help everyone else and the business by increasing their Leadership skills. It may be the CEO CFO, CIO ..... everyone needs to understand the difference between managing and leading. Understand to the point of being able to enact the behaviour. See more

07.01.2022 AntiBulling and Leadership I decided to focus in 2018 on Anti-bullying. I added 2 new trading names and got to it - pure utter rejection! Everyone said, "no bullying here! So, a new name coming, focus - cause and effect! Grow leadership capability, lessen bullying and I really believe that is the case. It's about gaining entry to the organisation and as most have professional development as part of their KPI's and Leadership as a core subject - wish me luck - wish the bullied luck! Our strategies work. Bullying id everywhere, internal and external - everywhere, not bad people, just bad behaviours. New name, not sure yet, maybe 'Leadership unleashed'? What do you think?

06.01.2022 Who would want it? Such a desperate need though! Central Adelaide Local Health Network - CALHN and new Chief, Lesley Dyer. A huge task Lesley. From a Leadership perspective, one of those anomalies. Yes, must listen to staff and stake holders whilst at the same time listening to yourself. So many have fixed ideas, self interest and fear as their guidance! Seek clean input or lose! You have no more than 100 days to bed in the fundamentals of change through exceptional, clear and uncompromising leadership. You may be accused of bullying behaviour if you resist others demands (bullying) and they will get air time - the barbs will be directed at you.

06.01.2022 Have you visited our other web - www.LeadershipThinking.Academy

06.01.2022 If its to change, its up to us! Just take a minute to read below - the challenge of our life time? We must attend to the parents who lead the teens and fill our workplaces... We have a challenge - help individuals - parents, children, workers - be their best Organisations must attend to dis-connection at all levels as this flows down to the teens, and more! We have a real challenge - don't we? Some time ago I spent 3 days working in country SA with the StepUp foundation http://www.stepupfoundation.com/ working with teams, helping through influence and proximity with noted speakers, to show opportunity and the benefit of positive thinking and actions. The foundation is very worthy and the 30 or so volunteers, steadfast and genuine. The teens, were to a staggering degree, disconnected, showing little confidence in their close family group, low contributors and generally just missing the opportunity - holding back. What I saw were the result of parents who in themselves were disconnected and hence, the flow though. We at colourthinking have taken the decision to focus on 'parents' and 'organisations' to help with connections there - productivity and personal development, let that flow back through to the 'teens' - our leaders of tomorrow! Need a hand with that? Bullying and harassment, disconnection and lack of appreciation, lack of clarity about objectives, all these things contribute to people coming home disillusioned and then allowing that to flow through and over who ever is in their path. Not bad people, just hurting and no mechanism to 'self-help'. So, children get a view of life that encourages them not to be encouraged. colourthinking work with these businesses to turn this around - gain productivity and through that, bring about a heightened esteem and a whole new range of emotion - positive emotion and expectations! If you know of a workplace that needs to be re-invigorated, lets us know, the results flow through quite widely, to the whole family and friends! mailto:[email protected] or phone direct through to Rex @ 0407 827173

05.01.2022 The cricket ball thing! So sad, good talented men who have a glitch in their character; its not a brain fade, its a brain conditioning from somewhere in their life envirornment. Not bad people but definitely proven repeat offenders. So the leader Steven needs not to be the Captain! So sad! If as reported the leadership team came up with & supported the cheat strategy then they must all lose the leadership MUST. Now, not all leadership members would have in their souls supported the decision but they didnt dissent enough! People need to be included and live in the fear of exclusion. So just too immature and insufficient self esteem in that environment! Need to go - MUST draw the line! Happens everywhere and we need to consistent in our ruling it out of bounds.

05.01.2022 If you know of anyone suffering from bullying, give them the hope that there are ways that work to fix most of those situations. I would love to talk to them - this is the part of my business that is philanthropic and so there is no charge to the individual, of course always in strictest confidence. Costs nothing to have a chat, costs nothing if I can help - I usually can so have hope.

05.01.2022 Ok I have received big push back from government who say they have no bullying. I have put aside the AntiBulling name and from next week will be LeadershipThinkingAcademy! Bullying exists because of poor leadership and that is a serious part of what I focus on and so now I will talk about adding into professional development budgets the topic of LeadershipThinking! One way or the other I will find a way off adding value to people to help with better outcomes!

05.01.2022 2019/2020 FY very close. If you have behaviours that are inappropriate in your business OR you are suffering from those kind of behaviours, I can assist. Be prepared to start the new year with policies and thinking that can eliminate those illegal and immoral behaviours. Ring to chat first, Rex 0407827173 - no obligation

04.01.2022 This cricket saga is very much about leadership where it begins - The Board. As I said last night on ABC 891, all this energy directed at the payers and coach and rightly so BUT the board is where the responsibility lays. Flying over to Africa to take control? Control needed to be taken here in Australia years ago. The errant behaviour of the deputy captain, the sledging and general demeanour of the team was shouting out, things are not right. The board, just as in the cas...e of Essendon, needs to be cleansed and renewed and then basic governance needs to be the main game. If the board didnt know things werent right (not that they would know the exact details of what was about to occur BUT they ought to have known a disaster was waiting to happen) then they are culpable. If they knew and just stood back, then they should be condemned! Some really good kids have been allowed to get seriously out of their depth through very poor senior board leadership, first order of the day is to make sure their mental health is cared for. As incredibly bad an example they have set to their myriad of fans, particularly the young, those fans have also now seen the outcome of bad behaviour. Thats a good thing to come out of this. In the case of Stephen Smith, I understand this is his second cheat offence; he is capable and lovable and with useful leadership at all levels he can be rehabilitated. The young player bullied into actually committing the offence; beggars belief that anyone could have put him into that position. If you are looking for the real evil of this saga, that is it. Talk about smelling the smoke under the door, you have to want to. Too easy to get carried away with the zeal to win, the zeal to get and keep sponsors and the zeal for self adulation of being of the board. That was the disgrace, that and how they have acted after Yes it is about those at the grass roots as well and they have exposed themselves to a hard lesson, what they do, how they think and act now is their tomorrow. This is going to be tricky and problematic. No sympathy but empathy; no bullying of them from those living in glass houses but help to rethink thinking. Best onward wishes to all involved, we are all frail. See more

03.01.2022 With Covid restrictions, more at home, more in each other pockets it is essential to give each other not only space but forgiveness. To look for the good and not focus on the not so good - to have grace and humility, to let the love shine through. Having said that, it is not a time to 'just take what is handed out' and equally not a time to return any poor behaviour with aggression of any type. If you are having a hard time battling with your environment, give me a buzz and see if I can add some value - no fee, no obligation to do anything else. Rex 0407827173

02.01.2022 I NEED YOUR HELP Back in January I moved my focus to Anti-Bullying. Really its what I have been doing for years but I wanted to give it more prominence. It HAS NOT worked spectacularly just getting pushback! As bullying thrives because of poor leadership, I have decided to rebrand again, looking to gain access to organisations through personal development and the topic effective leadership! I need a new name I have had lots of suggestions, about 30 in all and of those that are still available I have Leadership as a 2nd language (like English as a 2nd language) and Leadership Unleashed. (unleashing peoples perspectives and self-esteem to be able to be an active leader) Which do prefer? Got an alternative. I NEED YOUR HELP

01.01.2022 My Hypothesis is that many of the complaints from employees stem from the effects of the anti-social behaviour people are subjected to at all levels within employment. That we have very poor coping skills and tend to pass on the behaviour we get certainly pass back.... That many of the currently available techniques focus on the effect rather than the cause of the poor behaviour That far too much time is taken focusing on the right and wrong, fault and blame of situations and that in turn further exacerbates the problem entrenches the inappropriate behaviour That too much time is taken on the introspective thus allowing behaviour to continue, in consequence authorising that behaviour and desensitising the environment to the potential of remedy That ineffectual counseling leads to confusion in all parties the counselor believing the message has got across, the counselee being uncertain of what the message was worse still neither party having a clear (or any) view of the actions and timeframes now in place That consequence to continuance are rarely clear, even identified In the majority of cases, inappropriate behaviour continues on and on. Those associated with the situation most often either excusing the behaviour with they have always been like that, we have tried everything, just ask anyone who has been here for a while, it has always been the same, the job they do is pivotal and so we just have to work with it. Under duty of care, safe work place and just the need ensure that the people of the organisation are growing, that there is integrity to the policies and that people are not being allowed to depreciate it is incumbent on an enterprise to disallow behaviour that depreciates others. This is to say nothing of the commercial realisations of allowing this behaviour to remain part of environment. It is timely to rethink the impact that ineffective interpersonal behaviour has on all aspects of the business and to face up to fixing it. This is not a lets have a go dont spend time or resource on it as I dont really think it will change kind of subject. Where there is commitment, providence moves. It is time and timely that a new approach be adopted that clearly tackles the inputs and outcomes to this type of behaviour from a non emotional personal position rather than the judgemental and somewhat self defeating (self-serving) one of the past.
