Remember those :) Emerging out of Covid-19 and back into Council meetings means that there are more rules to follow, such as the unavailability of crockery items such as glasses, cups, cutlery and plates for food and refreshment which are now served in disposable packs which means more single use plastics are being directed to landfill. It's time to once again put into action the Shire's Zero Waste and Single use Plastic Policy and start to re...duce, reuse and recycle to divert from landfill. 13.01.2022 Foreshore camping at Shire managed reserves in Rye, Rosebud and Sorento will resume on 2 January 2021. The decision was taken after undertaking a detailed risk ...assessment following the State Government’s Coronavirus roadmap announcement of Sunday 22 November. Mornington Peninsula Shire CEO John Baker said the overall easing of restrictions and in particular an increase in outdoor gathering numbers guided our thinking. We have been monitoring the situation on a weekly basis with the health and wellbeing of our community, campers, visitors and staff at the forefront of our thinking. After reviewing the details in the Premier’s recent announcement and considering the risks, we concluded it was safe to resume camping, albeit with some ongoing Covid requirements in place. 11.01.2022 Darker - An outstanding performance by Dreamhouse Theatre Company presented as part of the #16daysofactivism2020 is a conversation between five young women, that exposes the sometimes murky undercurrent to living on the Peninsula. Darker demerges out of previous deep conversations had by Mornington Peninsula women at 'A WOMAN’S PLACE’ between 2015-2019 and celebrated local women’s stories, creatively produced by Anthea Mackenzie with Dreamhouse Theatre Company. Darker was f...irst performed in 2019 in the promenade theatre event ‘When The Birds Come In’, at the Southern Peninsula Arts Centre. A big congratulations goes out to the creators Mel Beddie, Jane Bayly, Carole Patullo and the Dreamhouse performers and all supporters. Well done. Enjoy the short performance :)
