25.01.2022 Edit: 162 shares and 14,0000 people reached! Keep up the support! Useful fact #1 Beekeepers across Queensland move beehives on mass during the night. ... Once honeybees have finished foraging during daylight hours, the field bees return to the hive before sundown to cure their honey. The return of the field bees or foragers then starts the curing process. This process is often referred to as ripening. The bees will complete the process of ripening by adding a small layer of wax to seal the cell, locking in and preserving the honey! Once a honey flow has finished and the flora available is close to finishing its bloom, beekeepers then begin the process of migrating their hives. To another site or pollination job. Hives are gently loaded on to trucks that will transport them in the cool of the night to a new location anywhere between 8km to 800km. Did you know an average load of bees transports up to 6 million bees per load! Maybe youve been lucky enough while traveling at night to see one of our Beekeepers moving their hives? Please continue to like and share our page and our posts. With your help Queenslanders will have the opportunity to learn more about our incredible industry!

21.01.2022 Bega LTD, the second largest shareholder in Capilano LTD, has announced it will sell out and support a take over by a China focused consortium of private invest...ors. The consortium of Wattle Hill and ROC Capital, called Bravo BidCo are reported to be crafting a deal that will see them receive 100 per cent of Capilano shares valued at approximately 198.6 million. It was speculated that Bega were intent on buying Capilano Ltd six months ago but have possibly become wary of connecting themselves with Capilano Ltd after the Fairfax Media #honeylaundering expose http://www.abc.net.au//capilano-and-supermarkets-/10187628 Shrewd Chinese businessman Mr Albert Tse, who has links to the Australian Labor party, will be delighted. Mr Tse fled to Australia in 2014 to escape the pollution in Beijing. https://www.afr.com//jessica-rudd-and-albert-tse-start-an- Consortium player Wattle Hill RCH was founded by Mr Tse (husband of former prime minister Kevin Rudds daughter Jessica Rudd) to capitalise on the insatiable demand by Chinas middle class for clean and safe products made in Australia and New Zealand. In effect this means pristine Australian honey will go direct to China while at the same time Capilano Ltd will continue to import Chinese honey to sell to Australians Australian beekeepers are furious that the limited apiary sites which have been bought up by Capilano Ltd will now potentially be owned by the Asian consortium. Local beekeeper Ben Moore from Bens Bees said I would like to think the future of beekeeping in Australia is not in a corporation owning 1,000,000 hives, rather thousands of smaller family owned apiaries doing well out of honey and contributing to pollination "Ben urges people to buy honey from their local beekeeper direct. When you buy honey from a local beekeeper you are helping a little girl get dancing lessons and not an investment banker a third holiday house Please support your local beekeeper on the honeymap. goo.gl/vfhcQs Download the App Bee the cure Google play Bee the cure Sign the petition http://change.org/honeylabelling

10.01.2022 Australian Beekeepers are furious with the conduct of Woolworths and have suggested a national wide #boycott of the supermarket chain. Woolworths have announced... they will continued to sell Chinese honey concoctions without displaying the honey is from China. Woolworths and ACO are teaming up to mislead consumers under their macro label. This Australian Certified Organic honey is not Australian and has not been tested using the NMR testing regime that has already revealed 60 percent of supermarket honey is fake. Australian certified organic does not test the imported honey. We are not told where this honey comes from. 160000 people have signed the change.org petition calling for Woolworths to stop selling Imported honey or in the least label is with country of origin. Yet the Government refuses to act. http://change.org/honeylabelling After Coles and ALDI Australia announced it would no longer sell Imported honey Beekeepers around Australia rejoiced thinking Woolworths would follow. At the Australian national beekeeping Congress, Norberto Garcia scientist and star of the Netflix series Rotten used statistics to eloquently prove that there has been an elaborate scam perpetuated by China to dominate the worlds honey market, through fake honey. Norberto communicated several scams being used by China such as blending rice syrup to honey and harvesting unrippened honey. He made it clear that there is no doubt Australia has fallen victim to fake Chinese honey. Australia has lost at least 15 percent of commercial beekeepers over the last two decades and will lose more if the price of honey continued to drop because of Chinese imports. This in turn risks Australias food security that is reliant of honeybees for pollination. Low prices for Australian farmers can lead to depression and suicide. http://www.abc.net.au//suicide-still-a-bigger-prob/8996568 Much of this fake honey arrives in Australia for $2kg then they blend it with a small amount of Australian honey and sell it in under subsidiary brands like Woolworths homebrand and Macro honey. Imported honey can carry different strains of diseases that can effect not only Australian honeybees but over 1500 indigenous bee species. One disease American Foul Brood is presently decimating bee colonies. AFB disease can be spread easily by animal lovers feeding birds and possums honey outdoors. Often people use cheap imported honey to feed animals and birds. We can learn from the prawn industry. Innocently people used imported prawns for bait which decimated the local prawn industry. The same thing is happening to our bees due to imported honey. http://www.abc.net.au//systematic-failure-of-biose/9246796 If the government is too corrupt to act, we will invoke change by boycotting greedy corporations. If you want to support Australian beekeepers #boycott Woolworths. Sharing this post will save the bees. You can find local honey on the honeymap. https://www.beethecure.com.au/honey-map/ Download the Bee the cure App Petition http://change.org/honeylabelling Please Share
