23.01.2022 Dear ANU Scuba Club members We as a committee have been carefully following updates and advice regarding COVID-19 and how this may impact the club. Currently there are still many questions which need to be discussed with the ANU Sport and Recreation Association but we wanted to update you with what we do know and changes that will go into place. These changes are made in line with the new ANU policy about Events (ANU Event Cancellation FAQs). Changes effective immediately... 1) Gear Hire Per recommendations from DAN (Divers Alert Network, see link below) we will be requiring that, in addition to fresh water rinsing required after all drive trips, all hire gear be decontaminated at both gear hire and gear return with ethanol mixes. We will be providing dunk tubs and sprays with the appropriate solutions for cleaning and there will be instructions at the shed for club members to complete the cleaning process. https://www.diversalertnetwork.org//dan-encourages-divers- The club will also provide hand sanitiser for gear issue officers and others handling gear at the gear shed. We also recommended that only one person at a time goes into the shed for gear issue/return and that others stay 1.5 metres apart outside while they wait. 2) Meetings Per ANU policy on meetings, we advise that, for the time being, all club meetings be conducted via teleconference. *****It is essential that no members present to the gear shed or come on trips with any cold/flu like symptoms**** Going forward As mentioned above, there is uncertainty about how the ANU's new policies will impact ANUSC dive activities and the coming AGM. We will be following up with the ANU Sport and Recreation Association for further clarification and will contact members as soon as we know more. Policies regarding COVID-19 change frequently and we will do our best to keep members informed, so please keep your eyes out for further emails from us. If you have any questions don’t be afraid to reach out. -The ANUSC Committee
18.01.2022 Missing diving over the cold winter? Well we have some exciting news, with the 2020 calendar now up on the website! https://anu-scuba.com.au/dive-trips/dive-trip-calendar/ As always this isn't the be all and end all, with ad hoc and day trips encouraged on weekends there isn't a club trip planned, see the website to get instructions on how to organise one of these.... If you are interested in running a club trip get in contact with the committee with the trip you are interested in. Hope you are all as excited about another year of diving as Aiden is to be photobombing this shark!
