02.01.2022 National Reconciliation Week is a time for the ANU Community to learn about and celebrate our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how e...ach of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The theme of National Reconciliation Week 2020 (27 May - 3 June), is In this together and could be in fact be the theme for the entire year. Yet during this year of pandemics, bushfires and hailstorms, we have learnt the power of togetherness, even when we live apart. And while the circumstances of 2020 will hopefully ease soon, longstanding issues like reconciliation still need to be addressed. At its core, reconciliation is about the relationships between the broader Australian community and the nations First Peoples and thus we, at the Tjabal Centre, hope that everyone can join us in participating the amazing online initiatives celebrating this years National Reconciliation Week. Make sure to like Tjabal Indigenous Higher Education Centre to keep updated on the online events being run across Australia and the world for National Reconciliation 2020 and to see submissions from the Tjabal Reconciliation Week competition.
