25.01.2022 MEMBER OF THE MONTH Dennis is one of our most beautiful and valuble members his kindness to all our staff and members has been so amazing to see, always coming in for chats with his funny and sweet personality & also his determination to get him as healthy as he can be! A little bit about Dennis..... He was married at 21 years of age to his beautiful wife Robin who supports his health and fitness to this day. He has 2 children with 6 beautiful grandchildren. He was a methodist all his life then became a minister in 1996 then retired in 2012. He grew up on a apple orchid in Beauty Point on the West Tamar He loves fishing and gyming and used to play Football, cricket, sailing did theatre in his youth. His favourite meal is curry

24.01.2022 Yotam Ottolenghi Puy Lentil Aubergine Strew 1 Put 2 tablespoons of oil into a large, high-sided sauté pan and place on a medium high heat. Add the garlic, onion, thyme and teaspoon of salt and fry for 8 minutes, stirring often, until soft and golden. Tip into a bowl, leaving the oil behind. Set aside. 2 Place the aubergines and tomatoes in a bowl and season with teaspoon of salt and plenty of pepper. Add the remaining oil to the same pan (don’t worry about wiping it c...lean) and, once very hot, add the aubergines and tomatoes. Fry for 10 minutes, on medium high, turning them often until the aubergine is soft and golden-brown and the tomatoes are beginning to blacken. Return the garlic and onion to the pan, then add the lentils, stock, wine, 450ml of water and teaspoon of salt. Bring to the boil. Lower the heat to medium and simmer gently for about 40 minutes, until the lentils are soft but still retain a bite. 3 Serve warm, or at room temperature, with a dollop of crème fraîche, a drizzle of oil and chilli flakes and oregano on top.

They were curious but too intimated to try new things. So we spiced it up today and got them out of the comfort zone! They ABSOLUTELY LOVED it! 17.01.2022 INGREDIENTS: 1 head cauliflower 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil or coconut oil 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped pinch of sea salt... juice of 12 lime (optional) pinch of cumin (optional) 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro (optional) PREPARATION: Cut the cauliflower in half. Place a box grater over a large bowl and grate each cauliflower half over the big holes of the graterhold the cauliflower by its stem as you grate it into rice. Alternatively, you can coarsely chop the core and the florets and pulse them together in a food processor until they are reduced to the size of couscous or rice grains be careful not to over-process. Heat the olive oil in a medium nonstick pan over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add the onion and cook until softened, 2 to 3 minutes. Add the cauliflower rice and salt to the pan and stir to combine. Cook, stirring frequently, until the cauliflower is slightly crispy on the outside but tender on the inside, 5 to 8 minutes. To enhance the flavor, add the lime juice, cumin, and/or cilantro and serve.

03.01.2022 Attention Members We sadly say goodbye to our Member Care Manager and formal Club Manager Lynna Taubman, we are sad to see her leave the office after being a part of our management team for over 4 years HOWEVER we are SUPER EXCITED to announce that she isn’t going far!! Lynna will now be running her Nutrition and Personal Training business full-time in club! ... You will now see her on the gym floor more often to assist you with your nutrition and training goals! As you know she is extremely PASSIONATE about living a healthy lifestyle and SHE KNOWS HER STUFF we feel so fortunate to have her share her nutritional and training services with our members. In case you didn’t know Lynna has over 15-year’ experience in the Health and Fitness Industry and prior to that, she was a Physical Training Leader in the United States Air Force. She is also a qualified Nutritionist a holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science. Lynna has also won first place in several Natural Body Building competitions and has helped others do the same. She will be bringing lots of LOVE to the gym floor with her big smile so don’t be shy and say hi! We are so excited for what she has in store for you! Watch this space!!!
