23.01.2022 Good afternoon Parents / Caregivers, It has come to our attention that families have posted videos and photos of races and events to Facebook and other social medias. If there are images of other students (other than your own) within your photos / videos, could I please ask you to remove them from social media. We have quite a number of students at Anzac Terrace who are not allowed to have their image publish for both personal and legal reasons. ... If you have posted a video or photo of your child only, this is fine; thats your choice. Please respect the rights of other families within our community. Thank you, Stuart Blackwood Principal
23.01.2022 Good afternoon Parents / Caregivers, I hope you are all looking forward to our Faction Carnival tomorrow. This is just a quick update in regards to tomorrows carnival.... If you have ordered Subway through the P&C for your child, these orders will be brought to the Bays just before lunch and distributed to your child. If you have not ordered lunch, your child must have their lunch packed in their school bag ready for the start of the day. Students will leave their bags in their cluster/wet area. These areas will be locked during the carnival. At recess and lunch, students will be taken to their normal area for play. Pre-Primary to Year 2 the front of the school, Year 3 to Year 6 the back oval. At no time during recess or lunch can parents access their child. I know this sounds a little excessive, but we cant have parents/caregivers walking throughout the school whilst we are under strict guidelines. We have also organised toilets for parents/caregivers. These will be on the end of the basketball court behind the scorers tent. We will also have a number of stations with hand sanitizer and sunscreen available for your use (students will also have access to these in their bays). Remember when setting up to maintain social distancing guidelines of 1.5m at all times. I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow, Kind regards, Stuart Blackwood Principal

21.01.2022 Hi All, In my speeches this afternoon after the Faction Carnival, I was remiss and did not mention the P&C. Thank you so much to the P&C for organising the Subway lunches, the coffee van and also selling drinks on the day. ... Also, thank you so much for the COVID Mothers Day and Fathers Day stalls. We are such a better school because of the support we get from our parents. Have a great weekend everyone!! Stuart Blackwood Principal

18.01.2022 Good evening Parents/Caregivers, With tomorrows Edu-Dance concert looming, I am just providing a quick update with the entry and seating arrangements. The gates around the undercover area will be closed to ensure parents only enter through the one path. On arrival we ask that you form a line out the front of the library. There will be a staff member there to greet you and check tickets. You will then be able to go through and grab a seat or a standing position. ... At the end of the concert you will asked to leave the area. If you are attending both concerts, you can immediately line up again for the second concert. We ask that the seats are made available to parents/caregivers of need. (Elderly/Pregnant etc). If you have younger children, they can either sit on your lap or stand with you. Please dont give them a seat by themselves. You will be asked to Socially Distance ... meaning you may be asked to move. Please do not take offence if this occurs. I know that some of these measures may sound extreme, but everything that is being put in place is for the protection of your kids and the staff. We have gone to great measures to ensure you get to watch the concert live ... so please help us by following these guidelines. Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow. Kind regards, Stuart Blackwood Principal

11.01.2022 Dear Parent / Caregiver, Based on the latest health advice, Phase 4 of the WA COVID-19 roadmap has been extended until Friday, 23rd October. This means schools are to continue to follow Phase 4 Operating Guidelines adhering to two squared metres social distancing per person. With this in mind we are inviting parents to attend our Athletics Carnival (only) on Friday 11th September 2020. This will be a ticketed event. Only two members per family (not per child) will be iss...ued a numbered/printed wristband to be worn on the day. Unfortunately, if you are not wearing this wristband, you will be asked to leave the school. We must do this to make sure we are following Phase 4 guidelines and ensuring your childs safety. Unfortunately, parents will not be invited to attend the jumps and throws events on Wednesday 9th September. Also, students will not be able to have recess or lunch with their families. Parents are requested:- To maintain the 2m2 Social Distancing at all times (consider where you set up camp) Not to congregate around the podium or finish line (maintain the 2m2 Social Distancing) To remain outside of the roped off area at all times (including recess and lunch) To follow these guidelines or be requested to leave the school grounds immediately. I understand that these seem like extreme measures, but they are essential to ensure we can run a safe carnival and you can watch your child/ren compete. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation; and hope that your child/ren enjoys the opportunity to represent their faction in this years carnival. If you have any questions or concerns, please speak with either Amanda McAlpine or myself. Kind regards, Stuart Blackwood Principal
10.01.2022 What a fantastic way to celebrate NAIDOC. Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse performed a brilliant concert and taught us some Noongar words. The students were entranced with their songs and loved joining in with the singing. Then I had the absolute pleasure of presenting Leigh with the gift from the parents. Needless to say he was blown away and a few tears were shed. #NAIDOC2020

06.01.2022 Hi all, Happy weekend Here is the mud map of our Faction Carnival. The pink border will be a rope around the sporting field. Inside the rope will be students and teachers, outside the rope will parents/caregivers. ... The rope goes all the way around the play area, this means parents are not restricted to just the hill-side of the oval; you can make camp under the trees, around the playgrounds, near the water tank etc. Social distancing will be enforced by staff ... sorry, but this is a necessary requirement of us hosting a carnival with parents/caregivers being able to watch. Wristbands are being made for us in Adelaide; as soon as they arrive we will distribute. There is two wristbands per family only (Im sorry, but another necessary requirement) If there are split families, extended families etc we cannot provide more bands. We are restricted with the total amount of adults we can have on the oval at one time. If you are not wearing your wristband, you will be asked to leave the school grounds ... again I apologise, but we have to ensure your safety as well as your childs safety. Children under school age do not count in your two wristbands; siblings school age or older do count within your two. If you have any more questions, type them in this post and I will endeavour to answer them as soon as possible
05.01.2022 The theme for Book Week this year was "Curious Creatures, Wild Minds". We celebrated Book Week with an incursion on Tuesday by Perform! Educational Musicals. The production was called "The Greatest Discovery". A fun morning was had by all at the Book Week Dress Up parade on Thursday. It was fantastic to see so many students and staff dressed up.
04.01.2022 Dear Parents / Caregivers, Welcome back to what I hope promises to be a more normal term of schooling. It is an important to remind you that the Premier Mark McGowan has kept Western Australia in Phase 4 of COVID-19. For Anzac Terrace PS, that means that the COVID-19 restrictions remain as they were at the end of Term 2. I have written them below to remind you. The most important one is that any children or adults with any cold/flu/COVID symptoms must remain home. We un...Continue reading

03.01.2022 On Friday 31 July, a group of 32 Year 3 to 6 students represented our school at the Interschool Athletics Carnvial. The results on the day were very close, with ATPS coming second place by only 5 points. It was a great team effort by all students with everyone putting in a fantastic effort. Congratulations to all students who participated in the carnival, but a special congratulations to the following students who placed in their event; Ruby C (Year 3), Taj M (Year 3), Lucy K (Year 4), Michael V (Year 4), Barbra F (Year 5) and Shaela M (Year 6).
02.01.2022 The Principals Pin is presented once a fortnight to one student chosen by admin for displaying all three of our learning dispositions. (Resilience, Respect and Responsibility) Congratulations to Mei in Year 4. Mei is extremely respectful towards her peers and all teachers she works with. She is the first to volunteer for extra tasks or to offer assistance to others. She shows responsibility by being at school on time and having her books organised and ready to start the day.... Mei arrives early for class each day so she can work on some areas that she requires extra help in. She will complete extra follow up homework with no complaints. Her resilience was obvious during COVID when she came to school and worked hard throughout that time. She has found Maths and Literacy extremely challenging this year, but has determinedly worked on her Maths concepts and used Literacy Pro at home and is therefore making great progress in both subjects. Mei is a shining example of all our Learning Dispositions, displaying these qualities consistently and is therefore a worthy recipient of the Principals Pin. See more
02.01.2022 A great day was had by all Year 6 students who attended the Leadership Day at Challenge Stadium last Friday. They worked together, encouraged each other and confronted their fears. But most of all - they had lots of fun.
