24.01.2022 AOOB Camden-Menangle branch President, 'Big Kev' Gunn shown here with Bob Rankin manning a bar-b-que to raise funds for children's charities in their area. Volunteers always welcome - especially young ''guns'' to help keep this great Aussie tradition alive. Contact Jenny on (07) 55313362 or email [email protected] for further information.

24.01.2022 Congratulations to Evelyn Rigney on her appointment as President of the Twin Towns AOOB Branch along with Sue Hindle in her capacity of Vice President. Here's to a fantastic 2019-2020! Thank you to immediate past President, Peter Farrell for all the work you have done on behalf of the AOOB,

23.01.2022 June Moffatt, Treasurer of the AOOB 'Top End' Branch enjoyed a recent trip to Ireland and has signed up a couple of local lads to the organisation - they think it's a hoot!! The only proviso was June had to leave her AOOB membership card on the pub wall - a small price to pay to be sure, to be sure, me thinks.

23.01.2022 Unfortunately we are experiencing problems with internet, can receive emails intermittently and then have trouble sending emails. If you are waiting on memberships it may be because I cannot download the application forms. Sorry for any inconvenience. Hopefully this will all be rectified sooner rather than later!!

18.01.2022 It's a sad day for the AOOB today, Emmaville Branch in NSW is closing. The Branch started in 1986 and raised thousands of dollars for the Childlren's Hospital at Westmead and local charities in Emmaville and surrounds. We thank you so very much for all your support over the years.

17.01.2022 Many thanks to Katie Macrae, (91 years young) and a member from the Twin Towns Branch who found this teaspoon in an Op-Shop in Toowoomba. Unfortunately, there are no other details to be had about the history of this 'Çollector's Spoon'. Quite an elegant spoon nonetheless.

16.01.2022 The AOOB is proud to announce a cheque for over $19,000 will be provided to the Children's Hospital at Westmead in support of the Leo Bradshaw Research Laboratory where research into genetic kidney disease in children is currently being undertaken. These funds are the result of fundraising efforts by AOOB branches, lots of generous donations and miscellaneous funds from bank interest.

16.01.2022 AOOB GIRU BRANCH - flooded in 2018 and now once again being hammered with major flooding - our thoughts are with you and trust you will get through this setback without any further damage to your historic town.

13.01.2022 My apologies to all the Old Bastards from the NORTHERN RIVERS BRANCH when I gave it a different branch name last week. You must have been choking on your beers at the Slipway Hotel when you saw that!!! Another two members signed up today so keep up the great work Renoir.

13.01.2022 DARWIN 'TOP END' BRANCH WILL BE HOSTING ANOTHER GET TOGETHER TOMORROW 26 JANUARY FOR THE AOOB & TO CELEBRATE AUSTRALIA DAY! VENUE IS THE HIBISCUS TAVERN KICKING OFF FROM NOON THROUGH TO AROUND 6PM. PRESIDENT CHRIS JONES AND HIS TEAM WOULD LOVE YOU DROP BY & SUPPORT THE AOOB AND SIDS N.T.

12.01.2022 I get lots of requests for an updated membership card and when the membership number is only 5 digits my first impression is that there must be a missing number. So it is always a great surprise & delight to find the original membership number listed in the ledger and can't help but think rather than an Old Bastard, the person is a 'long standing' Old Bastard. Today my replacement card member is listed in the 5th ledger (out of 60 foolscap ledgers here at the office) so a very 'long standing' member and computer literate too boot!! So to all the 'long standing' Old Bastards out there, thank you for your continued support.

12.01.2022 Corrigin Branch of the AOOB proudly supporting the Corrigin Amateur Swimming Club. 85 swimmers attended the recent swimming carnival and here are just two of the winners displaying their medals. Congratulations.

11.01.2022 GOLD COAST AOOB next get together will be held at Cav's Steakhouse, Labrador on Thursday 5 December 2019 Noon for 12.45pm luncheon. All enquiries to President, Frank Reynolds on 0421 254 526.

10.01.2022 Happy Mothers Day

09.01.2022 A Graeme Hughes must be wondering where his AOOB goods are - another payment received but no paperwork!!!

09.01.2022 A Question often asked is 'My Dad has passed away - can I use his membership number?". Unfortunately, membership numbers are not transferable. As we currently only charge $15 for Life Membership we don't believe this is too much to ask to keep the organisation going. Membership fees started at $2, then $5 then $7 so over a 50 year time frame we think it is still great value for something uniquely Australian.

09.01.2022 Carnarvon Old Bastards assisting their community once again with a donation to the local Heritage Group. You can check out the amount of money raised by the AOOB members in this small community of WA - it is quite amazing, All donations are listed on our web page www.aoob.com.au/donations. Well done John Wheelock and Ann Arden for all your wonderful charity work.

09.01.2022 Congratulations to the Gold Coast Branch on another successful Race Day. President, Frank Reynolds no doubt giving the punters his tips for the race winners on the day!!
