25.01.2022 Today at Bloombird, as part of reconciliation, the children and educators sat around the Yarning circle and shared stories.. Yarning circles are a traditional part of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Culture that have been used for centuries to learn from a collective group, build respectful relationships and to preserve and pass on cultural knowledge.

22.01.2022 AROUND THE WORLD Over the last month the Angels Toddlers have begun traveling the world, appreciating the cultural backgrounds of our children. First stop... Greece. Here is what weve done so far throughout our interest area.. we learnt about the Acropolis; an ancient building located on a rocky outcrop above the city of Athens, Greece. The children were given the opportunity to create their very own Acropolis using yellow paddle pop sticks provided by the educators..., a simple craft activity to engage the children. We also had a little taste of Greece! The children sat for a cooking experience, making Spanakopita. Here is our secret recipe.... Enjoy We will be sure to update you on our next stop Can you guess where were going? See more

18.01.2022 National Reconciliation Week 2017 at Angels Of The Bay Rosebery "Lets Take The Next Steps". Reconciliation Week celebrates achievements in our journey towards reconciliation. So what have we done?... Keep an eye out for our post coming soon

18.01.2022 What we have done so far... The 2017 theme for National Reconciliation Week is "Lets Take The Next Step", at Angels Of The Bay our next step has been implementing Aboriginal stories, music and art into our program. The Angels children have been involved in creating foot print art, Aboriginal Flags, dot painting and painting our own didgeridoo to create their own journeys and represent reconciliation. We were very privileged to have Joanne, a friend of Nikki who is a paren...t of our service come to share her own dream time story passed down through generations of her family. A story that has come from elders before Joannes great, great grandmother. We set up a Yarn Circle with a fire pit where we enjoyed listening to the stories, and singing songs. The children sang Inanay. 8 of the children then lined up and gave Joanne a flower, each flower was different and had ribbon around it. Once Joanne received all the flowers we tied them together as one bunch to represent that we are many but all one. To finish off our beautiful morning we asked Joanne for her hand print to be put on our ongoing artwork made by all the Angels educators to acknowledge again that we are many but are one. Please keep checking as our finished artwork will be shown soon .... All educators at Angels Of The Bay would like to say a special thank you to Nikki for supporting us and introducing her friend to be a guest for our event.

16.01.2022 National child protection week is a wonderful opportunity for everyone in the communities to think about how we can work together to keep all children safe. Building stronger communities and safe environments for children. At our service over two morning families upon arrival signed our educators and families pledge board/frame while Mickey Mouse gave "play your part" cupcakes. We all promoted child protection via information and our poster display. Everyone welcome to share their thoughts #hcpw #playyourpart #sharingwithfamilies #awareness

01.01.2022 Problem-solving Blocks offer a great platform to develop problem-solving and reasoning skills. This can be deliberate, with children consciously working to develop a solution, or as a natural consequence of play, as they learn first-hand what does and what doesnt work.
