22.01.2022 Let's all take a stance against racism. David Morrison's famous line on gender diversity works here too: "the standard you walk past is the standard you accept". Other situations I came across include: 1. A group of miners looking to list on the ASX advising that they don't want any financing from the Chinese - how are they going to pass corporate governance with this attitude? My Australian business partner declined to work with them. 2. A couple of Chinese guys got spit on ...by a white Australian, luckily my Australian friend (Greek by origin) stood up to him. 3. The Australian-born daughter of my friend got shouted at to go back to her own country as she looks Chinese! I can list many more, and there is always a silver lining - more people are inclusive than exclusive! 02.01.2022 Good news for Brisbanees: use the #covid19 time to study and hone your business skills! As part of Brisbane City Council's multicultural initiatives, Council runs Lord Mayor's Multicultural Business Scholarship Program and Mentoring Scheme. Applications have been extended to Friday 29 May. This program provides business training and mentoring opportunities for 89 Brisbane residents from multicultural backgrounds.
