The most awesome collab ever returns with brand new prints (and the return of a few faves) in kids bedding as well as adult, kids and baby apparel. May Gibbs is one of Australia’s most treasured illustrators and authors. Her bush fantasy world with those gorgeous gumnut babes has captured the imagination and hearts of Australians for over a century. 03.01.2022 We are so thrilled to launch the incredible new Kip&Co x Babbarra Collection on our site today! We have been beyond excited for this... From Kip &Co "It was way back in 2018 when we received a serendipitous email from a talented group of female artists at the @babbarradesigns in Maningrida, Arnhem Land. We connected immediately with the values and story of the centre, which was initially created as a safe space for women. It continues to be governed by women, for women and h...as grown into a creative hub that enables future enterprises to support healthy and sustainable livelihoods. The artists have been making amazing handprinted textiles for years, and were looking to partner with a female-led brand to bring their artwork to life on bedding and homewares. We are so honoured that the artists chose us, and are proud that the partnership they formed with us is best practice, with 50% of profits returning to the Babbarra Women's centre. There are seven artists featured in the collaboration; Deborah Wurrkidj, Elizabeth Wullunmingu, Helen Lanyinwanga (deceased), Janet Marawarr, Jennifer Wurrkidj, Margot Gurawiliwili and Raylene Bonson. We were honoured to be able to visit the incredible country around the Maningrida community and with approval of the traditional landowners, were able to capture some beautiful shots of the collaboration on country that you see here."
