18.01.2022 We are incredibly excited for tonight’s live feed of CIAF 2020’s Fashion Performance ‘Water is Sacred’. Although A Peace of Art was not able to put forward a collection in this years performance, we are still super excited for two of our DEADLY students, Kyle Shortjoe & Kenny Holroyd, who joined the modelling ranks for the first time to represent their community of Pormpuraaw and showcase the amazing ghost-net sculptures that are created by the artists of the Pormpuraaw Art C...entre. Join us at 7pm and login for a performance that we know is going to be nothing short of amazing! https://facebook.com/events/s/water-is-sacred-ciaf-2020-fash/295744505038494/?ti=icl
18.01.2022 Today as the Nation kick started National Reconciliation Week, our Junior School students joined the National [Virtual] Acknowledgement of country that took place at 12pm. We are very proud of our students and the steps they are taking towards reconciliation in this great country. They may be small steps, but steps to a better, fairer future none the less. We are privileged to be learning on beautiful Djabugay & Yirrganydji country and are equally blessed to have members of these nations be an integral part of our college family. We thank them for sharing their space with us and for their continued support & involvement in the life of our College. #InThisTogether2020 #NRW2020

09.01.2022 We have been a bit quiet on the creative front this year. Like many others, COVID 19 had a massive impact on our plans for 2020. With the majority of our creatives returning to community for the entirety of Term 2, our focus shifted completely. Riding out the lockdown with family in community, navigating our way through Online learning became our primary focus. We are very much looking forward to reuniting in Term 3 & seeing where the flow of 2020 takes us; So please join us for what is bound to be a fun filled six months ahead.
05.01.2022 These beauties are about to be transformed into Eco-Friendly shopping bags, or library bags...or anything bags really!! These pieces of solar printed black Calico will be lovingly stitched & given heavy duty woven Cotten handles and will available to order. Better still, you can come & check out our Pop Up shop full of OOAK goodies & pick your own at the College Spring Fair on Saturday October 26 from 3pm. Did I mention how much we love visitors? However, if you live outside the area and there is something on our page that catches your eye, pop on over to the messenger button and send us your wish list. All items are OOAK and made with love by the amazing indigenous students of Peace Lutheran College Cairns.
