There is a growing body of research that shows Western Diets high in Carbohydrates can influence inflammation and gut health negatively, and is linked to poor psychological states. Diets lower in carbohydrates, moderate in protein and high in healthy fats can enhance nutrition, lower inflammation in the body, and support optimal health outcomes. Start small. We all know that sleep is essential, but how many of us actually can say, we sleep soundly? Establishing a sleep routine or good sleep hygiene whereby you put certain rituals into practice during the evening can help to cue your body for sound sleep. Set a deadline for turning off all digital devices in the evening. The blue light that filters through your eyes can impact sleep cycles. Establish routines that have a calming effect, like burning aromas (incense or oils), having a bath, listening to calming music without lyrics, meditation, reading, or gentle stretching exercises. Ensure you get adequate sunlight throughout the daytime to help regulate your sleep cycle and enhance your Vitamin D. Otherwise, you can take a Vitamin D3 supplement which is available from most chemists.
