17.01.2022 After being a member of our Technical Judging lineup last year, Jody Kahlon jumped at the opportunity to join the 2019 National Final Runway Judging Panel. Jody has over 25 years experience in designing and making clothes and costumes. Throughout her career, Jody has worked in many different areas including musical theatre, film and television, home interiors as well as her own clothing label.... A specialist in making one of a kind garments, Jody understands all aspects of the design process, from creating fabrics, patterns and constructing. AATFA is pleased to have Jody returning as an Official AATFA Judge!

15.01.2022 With NTeen Fashion Festival on this weekend, our preliminary events preceding the National Final are almost complete. Who is looking forward to Nationals?
14.01.2022 Our National AATFA Chair Jeff has commenced a GoFundMe page to help support AATFA and bring creative students from across Australia to our National Final. As a Volunteer, and one of a small number working hard to make this event happen every year, our resources are limited. Our passion is supporting youth and providing amazing money can’t buy experiences for teenagers, who are at critical times in their development.... Unfortunately this means our focus is not on fundraising for an event, but what we can achieve for the youth. AATFA provides a glimpse of the fashion and design industry for secondary students. It’s their chance to discover their passion, develop lifelong friendships with like minded individuals, and to be supported by the altruistic giving that flows from APEX. To continue giving this opportunity, AATFA needs your support. You can donate to our cause, share this post and encourage your network to do the same. Who knows what we might achieve together?
14.01.2022 Our AATFA Alumni end up in all sorts of amazing places...from 2008/2009, Charley Bond, a current participant in The Bachelor!! Charley entered the My Culture category (now Society & Environment) with her design based on the Aboriginal flag. Charley, beautiful and adventurous as ever!!
12.01.2022 Introducing Marlene Delomel as a first-time member of our Runway Judging Panel for this year's National Final Marlene is an educator and designer who has worked in the fashion industry for over 10 years. As a designer she has been responsible for all aspects of the design process with a keen interest in marketing and branding. She believes it is a fascinating time to be in the Industry, as brands work to innovate and adapt in response to a dynamic and fast-changing environm...ent. As a teacher she seeks to bring meaningful and relevant real-life examples to the classroom, and finds it rewarding to watch her students successfully move into a career with Fashion. Welcome to AATFA Marlene!

08.01.2022 Introducing the first of our Runway Judges for this year's National Final - Elizabeth Formosa, Owner and Founder of Fashion Equipped. Fashion Equipped is a consultancy agency, founded in 2012 by Elizabeth, an industry professional with more than 20 years’ experience. With extensive experience in various areas of the apparel and fashion industries, and a love of all aspects of the business, Elizabeth is committed to sharing her knowledge acquired over a long-term career.... Elizabeth has worked in various environments, from corporate to privately owned companies, and has owned and run her own wholesale business. With successful senior roles in buying, product management and exceptional skills in sales, sourcing, product development, brand building, marketing, strategic planning and team management, diversity is the key to her extensive knowledge. Elizabeth has been fortunate enough to work with quality mentors over her career, providing a high level of business coaching which she now provides for her own clients. Her objective is to share her industry knowledge with others and support them on their business journey. Elizabeth first began supporting AATFA in 2014 and is excited to be part of a fantastic 2019 Runway Judging Panel.

04.01.2022 AATFA is currently in the process of planning this year’s events, however, due to Covid19, we are not able to prepare for AATFA as we normally would. Moving forward, we have set June 30 as the deadline for announcing the format for AATFA 2020.
