25.01.2022 R U OK? Today is national R U OK? Day, a day dedicated to reminding everyone that every day to ask, "Are you OK?" and support those struggling with life's ups and downs. This year R U OK? Day is more important than ever. Covid 19 has had a huge impact on so many peoples lives and many people (myself included) have struggled with the way of living that has become the norm since Covid 19 - living away from family, the inability to do everyday tasks (like buy toilet paper) an...d the increased isolation many of us now face! I am lucky to have amazing friends and family who regularly call me to check in and say hello, letting me know they are there for me even when they are far away and their support has helped get me through some really difficult times this year. If you know someone who is struggling but you're not sure how you can help: 1. Ask the question - just having someone reach out is a comfort. 2. Listen to the answer - really listen! 3. Encourage action - then they know you weren't "just asking" and you really listened. 4. check-in - this one is the most important in my opinion because many of us "talk the talk" but don't "walk the walk" when it comes to change. So, when was the last time you called that friend you haven't spoken with in ages, your mum, your grandparents, your siblings... maybe choose today to make that call and ask R U OK?

23.01.2022 #tiptuesday I recently read an article on how to schedule your day based on "must haves" to ensure a good work-life balance. The concept being, you list those tasks or experiences you must have each day. For me this is the gym, walks around the block and regular phone calls to my family back home. You then schedule any remaining tasks around those must haves. I found this a very interesting concept and have been incorporating it into my daily routine. Then just now I came acr...oss this quote supporting essentially the same concept. Food for thought and maybe something worth giving a go! Do you prioritise your schedule?
