24.01.2022 I am continuing my maths tutoring in an online platform in Term 2. I am willing to help out families who are unsure and concern how this remote learning is going to work out for your children with their learning of mathematics for a small fee. I have had the opportunity to use an online platform and think its a great way to do maths tutoring, online interactively. ... During the holidays, I used this platform to teach my current students. It went well, and I would like to invite you to try a half an hour online lesson free of charge. This will help you learn how it works, and test out if online lessons are of interest to you for Term 2. This is a great way to keep your child motivated in school work during the remote learning time period. You will have a peace of mind knowing that your child has proper, real-time assistance to understand and complete school assigned maths tasks. The lessons are online, real-time and interactive. It will help you to understand the maths concepts and tackle those questions assigned by school, confidently. All you need is a smart device like a mobile phone, iPad or laptop with a built in camera and microphone (or separate webcam) and internet connection. You will need to download the platform (free of charge) to the device you will be using. Message me your email address, and I will send you a link to join me at the agreed time. Whilst it is online/remote schooling, I am able to deliver these online trial lessons starting from 6pm till 8pm for half an hour, during next few days. 08.01.2022 Spaces are still available for Math Tutoring - Weekend small group, high ability classes and weekday One -on-One lessons Weekend classes will focus on extending high ability primary school students, and is suitable for anyone whos looking to extend their childs maths knowledge based on ability rather than school year level. Working upto grade four level is $25 for one hour lesson. These classes will address students ability rather than their year level at school or age.... As an example, a child whos in Year two can learn Year three/ four level maths concepts and a child whos in Year five or six can learn high school level maths. NAPLAN and other exam preparations will be addressed. Contact (PM) me for more information regarding these small group classes or for weekday evening individual lessons. In case you arent aware of my tutoring, I am a qualified high school and primary school maths Teacher, with more than 15 years of teaching and tutoring experience. 07.01.2022 Food for thought! Imagine you were born in 1900. When you're 14, World War I begins and ends when you're 18 with 22 million dead.... Soon after a global pandemic, the Spanish Flu, appears, killing 50 million people. And you're alive and 20 years old. When you're 29 you survive the global economic crisis that started with the collapse of the New York Stock Exchange, causing inflation, unemployment and famine. When you're 33 years old the nazis come to power. When you're 39, World War II begins and ends when you're 45 years old with a 60 million dead. In the Holocaust 6 million Jews die. When you're 52, the Korean War begins. When you're 64, the Vietnam War begins and ends when you're 75. A child born in 1985 thinks his grandparents have no idea how difficult life is, but they have survived several wars and catastrophes. Today we have all the comforts in a new world, amid a new pandemic. But we complain because we need to wear masks. We complain because we must stay confined to our homes where we have food, electricity, running water, wifi, even Netflix! None of that existed back in the day. But humanity survived those circumstances and never lost their joy of living. A small change in our perspective can generate miracles. We should be thankful that we are alive. We should do everything we need to do to protect and help each other.
