I ignored a lump I found in my breast convincing myself it would go away because I was fearful of hearing those words Breast Cancer spoken over my life. 12.01.2022 Yet another treatment day (number 30). Today I have company though which makes the process more enjoyable. My company is reading but that’s ok because just having someone sit beside me makes all the difference.... It gives me time to reflect and appreciate how truly blessed I am to be so well cared for and to be able to have access to the latest treatment available. My morning in oncology is an opportunity to meet new people and make new friends during a time that could otherwise be seen as a time of concern and worry. My journey with cancer has given me new opportunities to grow new friendships and enjoy new experiences that have enriched and expanded my world that could otherwise have been quite insular and limited. So so thankful for each and every new experience that I have chosen to add joy to my life’s journey. I wouldn’t have it any other way .

05.01.2022 My cancer journey. You are not giving up , dropping the baton or throwing in the towel if you are honest enough to be able to admit that life is challenging or maybe that life at times makes you wonder why does it have to be so constantly difficult. We all know the power of positive thinking and the benefits of turning a negative into a positive. But some days that’s too much effort and I have to surrender to those circumstances that bring me to a low point that leaves me de...flated, dejected and disillusioned with life. But this is just a place I only visit on occasion. It’s not the place I choose to do life from. Where I choose to do life from undeniably will take more energy and effort than I would like it to, but to achieve this goal it’s worth it. I’ve reach a point in my life through my experiences with cancer that has resulted in a personal revelation that brings light and life with it. Light that brightens any circumstances and life that is lived because I have a deeper understanding of what life entails. At times this means compromise and carefully considering each and every step. I choose to take steps that will ultimately lead me through those dark valleys, which may seem relentless, yet can be overcome to bring contentment, serenity and fulfillment. Life that is lived with an intentional outcome can be lived despite circumstances that may hinder and hamper how this is outworked. My goal in life is to live my life to be an encouragement to many and an example to some. My perspective on life and its ultimate purpose and goal dictates my actions and reactions to those experiences that shape and define us. While I may not be able to completely control all that life throws at me, I can contribute to how each day is embraced and embarked on. So can I encourage each one reading this post to set your focus on the life you intend living and use the external experiences to develop you rather than devour you. I love taking photos of nature.., it never disappoints ..

04.01.2022 How frustrating it is to wake each morning feeling tired with an overwhelming desire to pull up the blankets and block the sunshine out in the effort to deny its existence. Well that’s how I feel some days. I know I should be grateful as there is a lot to be grateful for but somedays I need to search for the courage and energy required to peel back the blankets in order to allow the sunshine in to do its job. To allow the light to bring into sight what the darkness tries to ...envelop. With sunshine comes the reality that each day is new therefore each challenge will require new strength and a new revelation of all that I have. All that I have may not take away the fatigue or the pain but discovering what I have exposes the power available to me to push aside the consequences and causes of my distress to feel the warmth the sun can supply in order for me to face each new day. To face is day with an attitude of praise and thankfulness requires that I unveil the gift of the opportunity to embrace the day and embark upon ways to enjoy its beauty. It’s a daily choice. Should I face the warmth of the sun and enjoy what life has for me to embrace or should I choose to hide in the cold darkness where life is void of pleasure, contentment or comfort? It is my choice to make just as it is yours. Choose to walk with me today in the warmth and comfort of the sun where life can be lived fully with joy and contentment.
