24.01.2022 KINDER CLOSED - THURSDAY 12 MAY To all Thursday Kinder parents, please note that due to lack of staffing at the Apollo Bay Kinder, the centre will not be open tomorrow (13 May 2021). We have exhausted all options to suitably staff the centre in line with our legal and compliance obligations, however unfortunately we cannot meet these requirements.... Please ensure that you arrange alternative arrangements with your children, and note that there will be no educators on site tomorrow and the facility will not be open. 19.01.2022 Traffic Information for the Otway Health/Apollo Bay Kindergarten/Ambulance Station Intersection - something to be aware of when planning to access these facilities during the construction period. Ballarat Excavation & Transport have been contracted by Colac Otway Shire to undertake Civil Construction works within the corner of McLachlan Street, Whelan Street and Pengilley Avenue, Apollo Bay. These works are expected to begin as of Monday 2nd May 2016 and are estimated to be c...ompleted in approximately 3 weeks (weather permitting). Works are being undertaken in response to expressed community concerns about the safety of pedestrians at this location. The centre road refuge will provide an identifiable crossing point, offering enhanced pedestrian safety. Associated kerb ramps will complement recent footpath works undertaken in Pengilley Avenue and Whelan Street. Collectively this system provides a primary footpath connection linking the Apollo Bay shopping precinct with the Apollo Bay P-12 College, as well as improved access to other nearby community facilities. 15.01.2022 We enjoyed a performance by the Wangaratta High School Band, at the leisure centre. It was a great opportunity for the children to see a great range of instruments in action, the children loved the music from Star Wars and Willy Wonka best.

This process allows the Committee of Management to understand the needs to the community for the 2022 year and to appropriately plan the program around the number of children and the children's needs. Enrolments officially open at the beginning of term 4 and we are taking expressions of interest from now on. An expression of Interest is the first step in Enrolment for 2021 Kindergarten. We are very excited to be amongst the first services in the state to offer a funded 3yo program - meaning an extra year of learning play and making friends at Kinder. (See education.vic.gov.au/3yokinder for more info on this.) Children are eligible for only one year of Funded 3 year old Kindergarten and one year of funded 4 year old kindergarten, unless they are eligible for a 2nd year of funded 4 year old kindergarten so careful consideration should be given as to which year you enrol your child. Graham was there within minutes, and went above and beyond by showing the staff how to navigate simple gas/heating issues in the future. No freezing kiddies at our Preschool! Much appreciated"

04.01.2022 2018 Committee It is now time to put thought and action into forming the committee for next years pre-school. The 2017 AGM is on Friday 17th November (6pm at the pre-school) at which next years committee will be decided. On Thursday, November the 2nd, the current committee will be meeting with parents of rostered playgroup children at pick up time. We ask that you allow 15 minutes at pick up time in order to meet briefly with us.... We understand that you are all very busy in your lives and realise that it all may seem a bit daunting. However, there is the possibility to share roles so the work is halved. The more the merrier, as they say. The committee is supported by the teaching and administration staff, who are more than happy to help newcomers learn the ropes! We need to state quite strongly, that without a committee of management, the pre-school is unable to operate. Therefore, your help is required. The committee is made up entirely of parents of children attending pre-school. Taking a committee position is a great way to be involved. All Committee positions for 2018 are currently vacant please talk to other parents and consider nominating yourself or someone else. BOTH MUMS AND DADS ARE WELCOME! The following positions need to be filled: President Vice President Secretary Treasurer Minutes Secretary Enrolments Officer Rostered Playgroup Representative Fundraising Officer Ordinary members (2 minimum up to 6) Any position can be shared between two people; this is a good way to share the responsibility and workload. You will be required to attend monthly meetings at a time and day that is suitable to the majority. Meetings usually last between 2 and 3 hours. 03.01.2022 Dear Apollo Bay Preschool Families, This notification is to confirm that based on the current Victorian Government advice, the Apollo Bay Preschool will remain OPEN during this upcoming lockdown. A note regarding face masks is;... Anyone aged 12 or over will now be required to wear a fitted face mask indoors and outdoors (except in your own home or if you have a 'lawful exception'). This is a step up from the government directive early this week (which only applied to indoors). Please note the most recent advice (as of Tuesday) from the Department of Education and training re face masks in Early Childhood Education settings was that staff were not required to wear them when directly involved in teaching or caring although could wear them if they wished. As at the time of writing the Early Learning Association Australia had not received any advice from Vic DET to the contrary. Can you please let me know via [email protected], if you do not wish to send your child/ren to kinder during this period and based on responses, we will arrange appropriate on-site staffing ratios and at-home educational resources that you can utilise if you choose to at home.
