20.01.2022 How much are you paying for your skin care products? Of course we can look at this two ways. Firstly are you paying for packaging that becomes discarded, or double lined dispensing containers that look larger than they are? Or perhaps you are paying for those glossy advertisements because this cost is passed on to you. But most importantly are you paying with your health? A myriad of chemicals can be in your skin products and unless you know your ingredients you will be conf...used or fooled by that advertising. Plastic containers are not environmentally friendly. 07.01.2022 Skin care selection can be confusing! So many products and so much marketing. Can you believe the hype? Can you trust what's in the products you purchase? Sadly, you can't always. Our labelling laws are not that tight. Organic? Natural? These can be loosely applied and unless you know your chemical names you might not spot the ingredients you'd rather live without! Apothecare Skin Care stays true to its promise to provide skin care you can trust. 07.01.2022 As a Naturopath I'm very aware of the disruption to hormone balance and the all too often occuring issues with fertility that are emerging. So along with advising clients on healthy , organic food choices, avoidance of plastics which contain endocrine disruptors and reducing chemical exposure in cleaning products and pesticides, I turned to the multitude of skin care products applied daily. Seemingly low levels of chemicals become significant when we layer products. For exam...ple, a shampoo, conditioner, body wash, sunscreen, moisturiser, deodorant and makeup application is very common. Chemical exposure is multiplied. Also don't be fooled by terms like natural and organic. They are often grab labels and the product may contain many undesirables. It's good to know your ingredients. I set about to create products I could be happy recommending and Apothecare Skin Care evolved after much trial and research. As a Herbalist I knew which herbal extracts would help and as an advocate for the benefits of pure essential oils I carefully selected those to include.
