20.01.2022 Due to current circumstances, Adero Law has made a conscious decision to take additional steps reduce the risk of infection and any possible spread of COVID-19 ...by increasing social distancing measures. As such Adero Law's Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide offices are now closed to the general public until further notice. Adero Law's Canberra office will be closed to the general public from COB Tuesday 24th March 2020 until further notice. Our staff are fully equipped to work remotely to progress matters, and will still be contactable for new and existing clients via both telephone and email. We would like to apologise for the inconvenience; however the health and safety of all is of the utmost importance during these times.

17.01.2022 At Adero, we love to get around each other and celebrate achievements that happen in our after 5pm activities. We aren’t just machines that sit in front of com...puters every day. We are mothers, fathers, football players, competitive horse riders (our Canberra associate Pia Walker), artists (our Melbourne associate, Amy Nhan) and a host of other things. In a profession that may sometimes seem to take away from such activities, as an employment law firm, Adero is leading by example and celebrating our staff's out of office achievements. So today, we are celebrating the achievement of our managing principal, Rory for playing his 100th game with the West Belconnen Magpies last Saturday. 15.01.2022 A huge congratulations to Adero's very own Jo Foster on her impending induction to the AFL Canberra Hall of Fame in recognition for her stellar contribution to ...the game in our nation's capital! Jo played 153 senior games in three separate stints for the Belconnen Magpies (2000-11, 2013, 2015) winning back-to-back Best & Fairest awards in 2005 and 2006. Jo represented the ACT from 2001 to 2003 before returning to the representative stage in 2005 and 2006. In 2007 she was named Vice Captain of the ACTW AFL Team of the Decade (1998-2007). Adero is a proud sponsor of the Belconnen Magpies Football Club, with many of our staff and families spending their spare time on the field.

12.01.2022 MEET THE TEAM: Anne McCartney joined Adero Law in February 2019, after nearly 30 years as a litigator specialising in large and complex commercial litigation. ...She is now looking forward to putting the skills she has gained to good use in conducting industrial relations class actions for Australian workers. Anne is currently working on 3 class actions brought on behalf of thousands of Queensland coal miners against their labour hire company employers. Anne’s interests outside of work include her farm, heavy horses (and all animals really), collecting vintage perfumes and gardening. She lives in Kingston in regional Victoria with her husband, 2 Clydesdale horses, an Appaloosa, 3 Shetland ponies, various cows and (when she gets out) the neighbour’s emu. 02.01.2022 Happy Friday! Our Melbourne office had their belated EOFY celebration last night with a few rounds of mini golf and karaoke but who wants to see lawyers swingi...ng golf clubs or belting out tunes when you have such a cute visitor in the office? Winnie is the newest member of our Melbourne team after completing her Bachelor of Paws (Honours). Dogs are great for mental health and has definitely lifted the spirits of our Melbourne team so we look forward to all the joy that Winnie will be bringing! Thanks Jon Barlow for introducing Winnie to the team.

01.01.2022 Continuing on with out 'meet the team' series... meet Erin-Louise! Erin-Louise enrolled in a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Canberra after high school an...d was motivated to enter in to law after discovering it was the only profession that allowed her to use her skill of winning arguments. Growing up with 3 siblings, and being a middle child, Erin-Louise also has well developed negotiation and mediation strategies. These negotiation and mediation skills come in handy in all aspects of her life, be it representing clients, managing her family or planning her upcoming wedding. Having spent the entirety of her law student career living with her parents on their hobby farm in Yass, she has recently moved to Canberra to live with her fiancé and now enjoys not needing to drive over 90 minutes to and from home. When she is not in the office defending the entitlements of misclassified independent contractors, she is spending time with her family, her Alaskan Malamute, Judge or watching her beloved Wests Tigers (sometimes) win. After long hours in the office, wrangling her family into line, managing her rising blood pressure as a result of watching the Wests Tigers and planning her wedding, Erin-Louise has too much pent up energy so has added playing AFL for the West Belconnen Magpies to her list of activities.

01.01.2022 Our Associate, Amy Nhan attended the sold out Legally Yours CPD event in Melbourne last night on the important topic of Mental Health and Wellbeing in the Law. ...Here’s Amy’s take on the evening: What Legally Yours put on last night was innovative, fresh and so relevant to a serious challenge within the legal profession. Instead of just giving the generic tick the box type of answers, it was so refreshing to hear the open and honest discussion from the panel about their own experiences in the law and sharing how they are practically making a difference in the mental health space in the industry. Thank you for reminding us that: 1. Lawyers are human too 2. You are not alone: we all have something we are dealing with (it’s just what degree) 3. When you look after your people, they will look after the work 4.
