20.01.2022 After making their Jack and Jill puppets and Jack and Jill books R, A, C, S, G and C used their popstick puppets to play with. Some used them to sing the nursery rhyme and act out what happens. Where others used them to create their own stories on the theatre stage that our student Selvi bought in for us to use. I love creating arts of work to display around the room but also enjoy making crafts to see the children engaged and using them to extended their own learning. Amazing efforts today Kindy Butterflies and Caterpillars!

19.01.2022 This morning all the children were together in the babies/toddlers yard, we set up the stepping stones and grabbed the balancing beam from the kindy yard to make an obstacle course. This helps the children with their physical development and wellbeing like their fine and gross motor skills. The kindys were vigilante and careful around the babies and made sure to look after them which is lovely to see, great job kindys.

18.01.2022 Creating Ladybugs in the mulch! Last week the children really enjoyed painting and creating pet rocks that they took home. So today while outside Miss Kat got the acrylic paints out and one by one the children picked a rock and cleaned the sand and mulch from around it. They then picked a colour from yellow, orange and red and painted their rocks. They used black and white paint to create the eyes and dot patterns. They all listened really well and made awesome looking La...dybugs in our mulch area. Afterwards C and R wanted to know how many there were so Miss Kat suggested they count them. They counted 20 all together. See more

16.01.2022 School Holiday Fun! REDUCE - REUSE -RECYCLE

15.01.2022 As a plan for the Center the busy bee room wanted to make some bird feeders for the outside area and today we made one! We recycled a old Soup ladle and a empty plastic bottle to make it we had to carefully feed through the ladle so the bird seed would fall out into it just like a bowl, this is so the birds could easily access the food while we are all being busy inside or are all at home. Mr A wanted to be a big helper and hold the bottle as the bird seed got poured inside.... All the children loved watching! Once it was all finished we put it up in the tree until we can securely hang it up. J, C and F wanted to know when the birds would come, They were all so excited for the birds to notice our creation and have lots of yummy seeds. (Caring for our environment)

15.01.2022 Our Busy Bees and Cheeky Monkey children had a fun afternoon out in the sunshine with bubbles yesterday. The many benefits of Bubbles: Fine motor skills. ... Visual tracking skills. Hand/eye coordination. Sensory processing skills. Oral motor skills. Social and communication skills. Gross motor skills. Following directions. Identifying body parts. Speech skills. Language and cognitive skills.

14.01.2022 Focusing on Reduce Reuse Recycle, the Butterfly children have been talking about reducing our waste, reusing our waste and recycling as much waste as possible. To encourage this we have our recycling station in our room at all times and remind the children what colour section is for what. The Butterfly children also reused some stones that were in our outside yard by turning them into our own little pet rocks, how awesome do they look? The children were all so excited about making their own unique rock pet and couldn’t wait to show their parents in the afternoon.

14.01.2022 The Butterfly Room Children all went to help feed the worms today. They have been discussing how to take care of worms, what to feed them and what not to feed them. The children always enjoy doing this task. We have discovered that our worms have had a lot of babies since starting our worm farm. Some look smaller than half the size of the big ones and some look like transparent bits of string that move. Its lots of fun watching and feeding the worms. The children are loving caring for their environment and feeding the worms regularly

13.01.2022 What a beautiful / rainy morning, our Busy bee children explored outdoors and made use of our under cover area to play while it was too wet to go outside it. First we sat and watched the rain fall it was so beautiful we listened to the sound and watched the water droplets splash on the puddles. We had a great idea to use the recourses we were given and put our herbs outside in the rain to get a good rain water. Tanya then had a great idea to catch some water in cups as... it fell from the sky, as the cups were on the bridge we watched the water fall into them, seeing them fill up very slowly. Instead of using paint and brushes we found cotton tips in our recourses and used them as our brushes, we dipped them in the puddles and ran to find some dry areas around the undercover to draw pictures on Once it was getting close to lunch time we went inside to wash our hands ready to eat, after singing a few songs we were brought our delicious warm lunch We had a great idea to drink our rain water cups with lunch, we all thought it was so yummy and cold! This afternoons activities were a great way to show the children all the great things we can do, being sustainable and using what we can find in our environment. The children had so much fun learning and exploring new things.

11.01.2022 What a fun morning ... The busy bees love playing in the kindy yard so today we brought a bit of the kindy yard over to us. We had some fun sand and water play, especially because the weather was so beautiful we had to make the most of it This activity was great to give the children a chance to expand on sharing skills and also listening and being respectful of others, we used animals and cars to make patterns in the sand and use awareness to show educators what animal loves to swim in water and what animals live on the land. All children had so much fun we played with this activity all morning. To expand on this next time we will go for a visit to the big kindy yard to have free play in the big sand pit. :)

11.01.2022 The Bakery This morning while all the children were playing in the butterfly room, E & A were in charge of the bakery, they both laughed and talked together as they gave some yummy goodies to their friends. N & A came to the bakery and looked at all the delicious foods, as A and N picked up a item and E and A would pretend to sell it to them. A and N thought this was so funny and they all laughed together.... Its so great to see such great friendships forming from all apple tree rooms. Each child feels confidant, safe and secure to explore and build strong friendships. See more

08.01.2022 We had so much fun window painting the babies glass door, we used our hands fingers and palms and also different sized paint brushes to see the different textures on the window. 'L' used the roller paint brush but soon figured out her hands where better for this activity 'E & E' stood next to each other painting with paint brushes joining their art work together making one big colorful art piece What a very messy but FUN activity.

08.01.2022 ** NATIONAL PYJAMA DAY *** This whole week we are celebrating National Pyjama Day. It is all about wearing your favourite pair of PJs to help The Pyjama Foundation raise much-needed awareness and funds for children in foster care. 07.01.2022 Whos behind that tree .. I wonder who it is... The cheeky monkeys and busy bees took advantage of the sunny warm weather and played outdoors. K set up an obstacle course with the balancing bean and balancing steps . We all had so much fun ,learning to keep our balance and learning how to take turns with our peers.... After playing a few rounds of balancing N went behind the tree and stood very still .. K noticed N was hiding (this seems to be the children new skill at the moment -finding hiding spots out doors and surprising their friends) K sang "I wonder where or where _______ can be?" Ohh I can hear you where are you??? BOO!!! The children had so much fun playing hide and seek all our friends soon joined in too.

03.01.2022 Wednesday 15th July - Celebrating National Pyjama Day Week

02.01.2022 What a great morning the busy bees had. I saw Mr D making music with the plastic spoon on the slide, as this was a interest Mr D has engaged in, in that moment i followed up on this by gathering materials and objects we could find, even things we could find at home, pots and pans, plates and bowls. We all sat together in a circle and used our sticks to make music, we listened to the different sounds we made when we banged on different objects. Miss Z wasnt too sure to begi...n with she was very sceptical but once her friends encouraged her she began to bang and had lots of fun. Mr N, Miss M, Miss E and Mr D did not hesitate they banged as many things as they could to create lots of noise, they all laughed together! What a great way to build friendships with such a fun activity. Well done busy bees you all sounded great today.

01.01.2022 Yesterday afternoon in our Butterfly room we did a little science experiment. We put an egg in a jug of vinegar to soak, the children took it in turns to pour the Vinegar into the jug and say what they think will happen to the egg. L said "Its going to be like a volcano" T "Its going to go up and down!" the rest of the children said its going to bubble and explode... S explained to the children that the egg will soak up the vinegar and become a bouncy ball, we will continue this experiment today and see what happens when we drop the egg outside. The children are so excited and cannot wait till this afternoon to see what happens when we drop the egg outside...
