19.01.2022 There are an estimated 1.7 million Australians currently living with diabetes, 100,000 of whom have developed the condition in the past year. A recent Ekas poll of diabetes patients digs deeper into their attitudes towards living with the chronic disease and whether their feelings about treatment and prognosis have changed.

16.01.2022 The results are in and clear. Behavioural changes are at a peak and we are at a tipping point to manage the spread and also the impact on the country. - 83.7% of Australians surveyed say they are only greeting people verbally at present - Just under three quarters of respondents (73.1%) believe a recession is coming on the back of the coronavirus pandemic... - International and domestic travel is being slashed by consumers. Some 41.9% of respondents have postponed or cancelled a trip within Australia or overseas due to coronavirus - Almost 7 in 10 respondents (68.7%) are either very concerned or quite concerned about the spread of coronavirus - Over half (61.4%) of Australians are opting to avoid ticketed events irrespective of the 100 people limit for gatherings put in place by the government

12.01.2022 2020 has been a particularly worrying time for elderly people and patients with pre-existing health conditions. Those with asthma, for instance, have had to contend with not only the oppressive smoke from the bushfires at the start of the year, but also the uncertainty around COVID-19 and its potential impact on their health. To get a deeper understanding of what 2020 has really been like for those with asthma, Ekas’s Panel Manager, Jessica Farrow, sat down with a member of our patient panel, Apple A Day, to discuss the day-to-day challenges she faces.
