02.01.2022 It’s been a crazy couple of months since I departed Surge Media and established my new company, Applecart Digital. Now that the dust has settled, I would like to thank everyone for their support and assistance during this time. What’s in the name Applecart Digital?... To 'Upset the apple cart' is an idiom which means to disturb the way things are done. The rapid speed of technological change touches almost everything we do. Global giants like Uber, Airbnb and Amazon have been on the forefront of using technology to upset the status quo and capitalise on cost reduction and productivity improvements. Business automation used to just be something for the "big guys" but the mass introduction of cloud-based computing has now made it available and affordable for SMEs too. Ultimately, whoever is prepared to adapt (or upset the apple cart!) will reap the benefits, through gains in productivity and reductions in cost. The alternative? You risk being left behind.
