Therefore, wed like to introduce a weekly series - "Origins of Ohnamiya" This week, wed like to start at the very beginning... ... Ohnamiya originally opened just over 20 years ago, both stores (Applecross and Myaree) are family owned and operated by the Hitomi family who migrated from Japan to Australia almost 28 years ago. There are many cultural differences between Australia and Japan, one of which is the traditional bento lunches. Bentos were something the family loved and truly missed about Japan after arriving in Australia. The idea of Ohnamiya started here: they wanted to replicate the idea of bento lunches using Australias best and favourite ingredients. 04.01.2022 To our loyal customers, As you may be aware the WA government has announced a lockdown as of 6pm tonight (31/01/21) until Friday 6pm (05/02/21). As restaurants services are able to continue with take-away service, as of tonight Ohnamiya will be providing take-away service only. ... The health and safety of our customers, staff members, friends and family are our first priority. In order to ensure the health and safety of all our customers and staff, while also being able to continue to keep our business open to serve delicious and affordable meals to the community, we ask that in accordance to government direction, that you wear a mask when you visit us. All our staff will also be wearing masks in addition to our existing health and safety policies. Both of our shops will remain open and we will closely monitor the advice and notices from the government and healthcare officials. We ask for your understanding as we aim to be a responsible restaurant business to both our customers and staff members.
