23.01.2022 This canine of Applehead is a very special one. Meet Lock. Pictured here at 11 years old, just before he went to doggy heaven. His favourite food was chicken - roast, fried, poached, ANY chicken was good chicken to Lock. His favourite past time was taking long walks on the beach and going for a dip, as well as cuddling up with dad on the couch. Lock loved to chase birds, but like a true gentlemen, he would also share his food and water with them. He was a sweet and gentle soul and we will miss seeing him outside the deli. We hope youre munching on fried chicken whilst dipping your paws in the water up there, Lock. Thanks for being a canine of Applehead

16.01.2022 This is Brandon. We get to see him every Thursday when he delivers our delicious bags of coffee from @axilcoffeeroasters Brandon is an Aboriginal man. His mob is Gamilaraay from Moree, NSW. He grew up in a small town called Blayney in NSW and moved to Melbourne to start a new life with his partner, Rebecca. When hes not delivering coffee across Melbourne, hes reading comic books at home and practicing jujitsu. During iso he is also reading comic books at home and practicin...g jujitsu. Brandon believes that coffee can have a positive impact on the world and this is why he loves his job. He says that somebody who is having a horrible day could walk into a coffee shop and come out feeling better after a good yarn and a friendly smile. He says that coffee can change the world one cup at a time (and we agree). When Brandon comes to visit, he skips the small talk and gets straight to the nitty gritty. He is a breath of fresh air. We feel blessed to spend everyday with you and we think we have the best job ever. 08.01.2022 LOCKDOWN UPDATE. Hi friends. Throughout stage 4 restrictions, Applehead Deli will be closing at 2pm each day. We will continue to open at 6am during the week and 8am on weekends. We will also be offering delivery via @skipapp to our customers in Mentone, Parkdale, Cheltenham, and Beaumaris between the hours of 9am and 2pm. Thank you so much for your ongoing support we love our little Applehead community.

08.01.2022 DELIVERY UPDATE! Hi friends, Due to the current situation in Mentone and surrounding suburbs, we’ve decided to reintroduce deliveries for a short period of time. We will be offering delivery between 10am and 12pm Monday to Saturday. The delivery service will be available via @skipapp and all deliveries will be contactless. We are thankful that so many people in the area are being proactive, getting tested, and staying home as much as possible. We hope that this will make time in quarantine a little easier for some people. Applehead.

05.01.2022 As of tomorrow, Applehead Deli will be reverting back to take away only. We made this decision because we want to minimise the risk of covid as much as possible so that our little deli can stay open and keep making coffee and tuna melts for the community. We encourage the use of @skipapp where possible as it allows contactless ordering and pick up. We also encourage card payments where possible. Thank you for your understanding. 03.01.2022 Meet Heath (aka Heather, Keith, Keys). Heath used to come into Applehead every morning to get his bacon and egg roll and almond latte with two sugars until we snapped him up and threw him into our kitchen five days a week . In his spare time he goes hunting for clothes for his vintage store @thedenofthreads , eats fried chicken in Preston, drinks wine (maxes out at two bottles), and rearranges his wardrobe. You may have previously had his cooking at Milk Boy or Bad Shepherd. Although he says he wants to go back home to New Zealand we secretly hope he stays in Australia (ahem Mentone) for a long time.
