20.01.2022 Tomorrow we are expecting a maximum temperature of 35C and another maximum in the 30's on Tuesday. If you have a lawn and particularly a new lawn please; *ensu...re your retic is working properly by checking your coverage with catch cups *check the leaf of your lawn for signs of dehydration such as discoloured leaf or leaf curl (see pictures for examples) *make sure your soil is wet and you have applied a good wetting agent like Eco Wet to make the most of the water you apply. With the stress of higher temperatures coming now is a great time to apply a good seaweed product like Eco Vital. Also keep up your lawns Potassium with an application of Eco Purple for established lawns and Eco red for lawns under 6 months old. If you see signs of heat stress/dehydration in your lawn hand water immediately to avoid leaf loss. To hand water make sure cool water is coming out of your hose before you start watering your lawn to avoid burning the grass and use a soft shower attachment to avoid washing the soil off your lawns root system. Give the area a good soak for atleast 5 minutes. Remember our watering instructions are a guide. The aim is to give your lawn the water it needs and if it really needs a lot or it is not responding to the water you apply then you need to figure out why. This is something we can help you with. 18.01.2022 Hi everyone Happy new year This post is a little different With all posts and comments I’ve been reading on lawn and garden pages about dry , heat stressed lawns. I decided to not water my couch lawn , turn the retic off for a few weeks and let it dry out. ... 19th December picture 1 was were we started. low mow / scalp with a rotary mower. Lawn was Aerated (Toro machine)picture 2 Fertiliser and wetting agent applied. (Eco purple & Baileys grosorb) 28th December updated picture 3. Ive been watering it 3 days per week (Bore) 31st of December freshly mowed. Picture 4 It’s not perfect but it’s on its way back to a healthy lawn. Hopefully this post helps a few people get motivated to having a green lawn
