25.01.2022 - OPEN DAY CANCELLED - To limit the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), Apples and Honey Preschool has made the hard decision to cancel our Open Day, that was planned to be held this Sunday, March 15. Our children, staff and families' health is of paramount importance. As such, we believe that the safest option is for us to cancel the Open Day.

21.01.2022 At Apples and Honey Preschool, we've been learning to identify numbers in fun and engaging ways, building upon our foundation numeracy skills. This has been extended to counting, patterning and recognising symbols. And, it's all been fun too!

21.01.2022 Here's something to brighten up your day - a sustainable veggie garden was planted by preschoolers at Apples and Honey Preschool and Teresa Petrzelka of the North Shore Temple Emanuel's volunteer gardening team recently. There's nothing like teamwork to create a veggie garden that we can all look after and enjoy!

19.01.2022 Can you see the bees? The children took turns at painting the bees on each others fingers and pressing it onto the paper in celebration of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year.

16.01.2022 Collaborative Building in our beautiful outdoor learning environment. Together the children worked a team to construct and design. Supporting communication and language skills, innovation and problem solving skills.

13.01.2022 Pirate Week - 21st - 25th September! We are excited to celebrate Pirate Day at Apples and Honey on Monday the 21st of September and continue with stories and learning experiences throughout the week. Pirate Day is an annual national day of dressing up to raise awareness and much-needed funds for childhood brain cancer. We cant wait to see you all dressed in your pirate gear across the week!

11.01.2022 The Children have been very interested in Dinosaurs this week. This experience allows the children to explore their own interests whilst role playing. The numeracy stones incorporate numeracy skills into their play whilst enhancing their cognitive development.

11.01.2022 We are modelling and practising correct hand washing techniques at Apples and Honey Preschool - 1. Wet hands 2. Apply soap 3. Lather and scrub 4. Rinse hands... 5. Turn off tap 6. Dry hands Wash for at least 20 seconds. Children and educators wash hands frequently with soap and water before and after eating or handling food, going to the toilet, coming in from outside and after wiping or touching noses or faces and cleaning up spills of bodily fluids. Every day with the children we share a yarn circle, we Acknowledge our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and create a circle of respect, where we share stories about our day and reflect on what we have learnt.
