24.01.2022 It all started with an order for a hot pink Shirt Dress. I was all about it, finally, someone saw the vibe that I was seeing in this explosive fabric. It was always going to be a gutsy broad to take on such a powerful colour. But then just like that, Trish messaged back and advised me that her handsome Dan, a seasoned Territory fashion expert threw his 2 cents worth of advice in and reckoned Hot Pink - nah, no good....So Navy Polka was the next choice. A fabulous choice nonet...heless, classic, flattering. A beautiful pattern for a summer vibe.... lol Dan, with his fashion advice....cute. I messaged the ATF team immediately ‘keep the hot pink and ramp up the hotness level, take a few cm’s off the length and tighten it up around the chest girls, it’s showtime!’ A few weeks later the goods were ready to post out to Trish, the Navy Polka capped sleeve was stunning. Of course. The hot pink - wow! Like WOW. So I wrapped and packed off the surprise to my gal Trish in the Territory, with a note for old Alex Perry to put that hot pink in his pipe and smoke it Haha I live for this shit! Everyone, This is my new pal Trish, or Patsy Coleman to the music world. A voice that conjures emotion. When Patsy sings, you are hearing a story. And the music makes you think, it takes you to those places and the experiences that were the fuel for this talented ladies fire. Patsy has seen some shit in her time - some of it not so flash...In one of our chats I was big noting my years on the Asian Karaoke circuit to Trish and straight off the bat I was warmly invited to jam next time I am in Darwin. And I can’t wait to share a drink, some laughs and a good ol’ singalong with one of Australia’s great female voices. 17.01.2022 10 years ago I rolled into Buchanan Downs near Dunmarra, NT. If I had known what a fucking mad house I was driving into I probably would have turned around quietly and bolted. ( great cattle though. And all power to Anthea for living her dream. It is rather remarkable) It was a Sunday afternoon and I was told the other Jillaroo was on her way back after the weekend in Darwin with her husband and kids. Ok. Interesting. Must be an old girl then. But from the time I arrived and ...met everyone all I heard about was Kelly. Bit intimidating really. She finally arrived and it felt like everyone was up waiting for her, to get a good yarn or just to see how she reacted to me. That silly old Gordon parked up at the table with his shit stirring stick on the ready..There was obviously an alpha female in my midst. I got the vibe. Anyway, finally, She arrives. Huge big yank tank rolls in. Somehow still sparkling white and totally pimped. In walks Kel and instantly the place was alive. 3 of the first 5 words out of her mouth would have made a sailor look like a saint and she just had everyone sorted. She was taking job orders from Mrs Boss, she was unpacking a bag of things she brought back for everyone, pouring a drink, smoking a durrie and started putting a meal on amongst all of this action. Just on the job. Major multi tasker. And boy could she handle the kitchen full of Derby’s finest ‘misfits’. I was in awe. Kelly was hard core. Still is. Kel lost John, her husband, also hardcore, a few years ago, I was humbled to be with her and her 2 wild and wonderful kids, during that time. So far John has been the only one to tame the beast. A great love story is theirs. Anyway, 10 years later we still talk till all hours every week or so, theres always some dickhead vying for her attention and I live her stories. And funny. Proper bushy funny. Kel drives Side Tippers near Port Hedland these days, haulin’ Iron Ore, in 60 metre long machines. She turns up, can hold her own and I mean look at her, stunning. 02.01.2022 As a proud New Zealand woman, myself raised in some of the most beautiful high country and rural areas of New Zealand, well of course I am living my life vicariously through @nzfarming and all the guys and gals out there in all the elements NZ weather conjures up, I get homesick for sure. I know one day I will be back on the land in NZ living a humble life, that is my dream for David and I. But until then I will just keep getting my NZ farm hit from great ladies like Rosie. W...ith an order placed a few months ago, the height of this years bullshit, the order took some time to get to Rosie but like all my other beautiful customers, Rosie was patient. I love hearing your stories and Rosie has a neat one too... after her run of city life and working in the food service industry, a gorgeous Kiwi farmer stole the heart of our metro lady. Saying bye to the couple of dozen bright city lights and hi to dirty finger nails and early mornings in the paddocks, by 38 our gal was a fully fledged Shepherdess with a swag of dogs and a completely different skill set. 38. I mean at 41 that is young to me but in the grand scheme, 38 is quite an age to turn your life around. But look at the contented body language here - this gorgeous Wahine is right where she needs to be! Sometimes we have to take a punt. Take that leap. And more often than not, it works out. But you have to work for it...
