25.01.2022 You can motivate by fear. You can motivate by reward. The only real motivation, is self motivation. It's up to you.

25.01.2022 How much water is the right amount for you? 0.033x bodyweight (kg), in litres. If you find this makes you wee non-stop (around 5 times a day is the norm), add a pinch of good quality sea salt to help remineralise the water and get it where it’s meant to go rather than straight through you. www.appliedhealing.com.au

23.01.2022 Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a painful sensation in the hand and fingers caused by compression of the median nerve where it passes over the carpal bones through a passage at the front of the wrist There are varying treatments ranging from wearing overnight splints right through to surgery, where the flexor retinaculum itself is cut to release the pressure on the nerve.... However, even with these varying treatments, symptoms may not subside or may reoccur in time. Most often this is due to the cause itself not being addressed but only the symptoms. With effective techniques such as Acupuncture, Deep Transverse Friction, Trigger Point Therapy and more we will not only alleviate the pain and discomfort experienced from these symptoms but deal with the cause of the problem too. 21.01.2022 Dry needling is a great solution for any soft tissue injuries, spasms, trigger points, neurological pain. Flying Dragon into the left medial meniscus to promote healing of an old tear.

17.01.2022 I can't grasp how individuals believe diet drinks are actually more beneficial to them than standard sugar filled drinks. It's a concern how the very substance that individuals believe will decrease their chances of gaining weight, has, in actual fact been proven to cause obesity, not to mention certain types of cancer.

17.01.2022 Dry Needling Very effective in the relief of muscular pain. Treating neuro physiological disorders, chronic nerve pain and musculo skeletal problems by releasing muscle fibre contraction and spasm or trigger points. Dry Needling these points initiates release of pressure from the nerves causing muscle tissue to relax. #dryneedling #painfree #enjoylife #freedomofmovement #relaxation #appliedhealing

14.01.2022 What is the RICER protocol? Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation, Rest. Apply this for approximately 48 to 72 hours and then ACTIVELY begin your rehabilitation. ... Ice is always okay regardless of when an injury occurs. It will provide relief from pain and may help reduce the inflammatory process. Ice v Heat. When and Why. Ice is best for: Acute injuries resulting from extrinsic factors or chronic injuries which may occasionally flare up resulting from intrinsic/extrinsic factors. Sprains, strains, corked muscles, bursitis, vertebral disc inflammation, repetitive strain issues. Icing for 10 to 20 minutes is recommended. Leave for an hour or so and repeat. Do this 3 to 4 times daily for the first 2 to 3 days. Obviously with our busy lives it’s not always possible to ice in this fashion but even once or twice is better than not at all. Don't put ice directly onto bare skin as it may burn the flesh and also freeze the underlying tissue, which can cause more damage. Heat is good for: General muscular tension resulting from stress, over exercise or physical work. Moist heat is far more effective than dry heat. Its ability to penetrate is greater and will also provide more relief. Most importantly The key to injury management is to address it as soon as possible and to incorporate mobility as soon as possible. Musculo-skeletal injury responds far more effectively to action NOT inaction.

11.01.2022 PNF/Hold Relax Stretching. "Sherrington's Law of Reciprocal Innervation" - When one muscle contracts, the opposing muscle is inhibited from contracting, the spindle cells disengage, allowing the target muscle to lengthen. PNF/Hold Relax stretching is used to increase flexibility and to reduce pain in muscle prior to deep tissue massage or ischemic pressure (trigger point therapy). The isometric contraction of the muscle to be stretched warms and brings blood to the muscle. I...t mildly fatigues the muscle so it is better prepared to relax and stretch more. If you feel you could benefit from this technique due to lacking flexibility or general soreness, visit our Facebook page Applied Healing, we have qualified therapists who can help. www.appliedhealing.com.au See more

11.01.2022 Pain is one of those things we put up with most of the time because often it is temporary. We combat it by taking drugs or just being staunch. Sometimes pain doesn't go away due to specific conditions, even when drugs are taken.... This type of chronic pain is life changing. In over 20 years of treating people, I have seen, on occasion, generally happy, outgoing people become depressed and reclusive due to living with continual pain. If you live with pain that affects your life in a negative way. If you are or have been on the drug merry-go-round without change, call Applied Healing on 8363 1757. We have qualified acupuncturists, naturapaths and remedial massage therapists to help you. www.appliedhealing.com.au

10.01.2022 Sports and remedial massage is a hands on treatment for the muscles and joints of the body with direct purpose of improving health and well being, both physically and mentally. The strokes used in sports and remedial massage are designed to loosen skin from underlying tissue, break down adhesions, create elasticity in scar tissue, relax muscles, relieve stress and much more. Sports and remedial massage is ideal for all people, regardless of whether sedentary or active as it... ensures good flow of necessary fluids throughout the muscles of the body, be it feeding muscles or be it removing waste from muscles and as a result will improve all round health, vitality and performance, both physically and mentally. Sports and remedial massage is also designed to promote healing of injuries in muscle and joint tissue, whether it be from direct impact, repetitive strain, sprains or poor posture. The techniques employed when dealing with specific injury, range from DTF (deep transverse friction), ischaemic pressure (trigger point therapy), PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation), myofascial stretching and much more. The musculo-skeletal system responds far greater to action than inaction and therefore sports and remedial massage techniques are the best option for recovery, injury management and optimal well being. If you feel you could benefit from sports and remedial massage call us on 8363 1757. Applied Healing www.appliedhealing.com.au

01.01.2022 Tennis Elbow is a common condition experienced by many individuals. It can present extrinsically through direct impact or intrinsically through poor postural positions or repetitive movement patterns. The discomfort felt can be mild or severe and is mostly below the elbow at the lateral aspect (outside), of the arm and can refer further towards the wrist. There are generally 3 muscles involved Brachioradialis, Extensor Carpi Radialis Longus and Extensor Carpi Radialis Brevis ...known as "The Wad Of 3". If left unchecked it can be quite debilitating and render the individual unable to perform many simple tasks such as turning on a tap or opening a jar. With effective techniques such as Acupuncture, Deep Transverse Friction, Ischaemic Pressure and Remedial Massage, plus stretch and exercise, the problem can generally be resolved in a short period of time. Applied Healing has qualified practitioners well equipped to treat such conditions. www.appliedhealing.com.au
