18.01.2022 Information from IRATA International We are mindful of the fact that some of our technicians’ certification will expire through no fault of their own [Unavoidable Expiry] and, due to the situation with COVID-19, it may not be possible for technicians to undertake the required training and assessment. It is important that IRATA certification continues to maintain its integrity and value to industry; and the safety of our technicians is at the forefront of our decision ma...king. It is not possible, as such, to extend IRATA technician certification without first undertaking the required onsite training, followed by the successful passing of a practical assessment. It is also for these reasons that remote training and assessment cannot be considered. As a result of this communication, Applus+ is continuing to train candidates at our Bibra Lake facility with the following precautionary measures: Reduction of the number of candidates to a maximum of six; Spraying disinfectant throughout the Training Centre and over equipment on a daily basis; Social distancing within the classroom environment; Only using dummies for rescue training; Taking temperatures on arrival every day. Should a training course be cancelled due to quarantine restrictions by the Western Australian Government, candidates will be provided with a full refund if the course has not commenced. If on a current course, the candidate can choose another date to sit the course once the quarantine has been lifted.

17.01.2022 Applus+ have training positions available on our upcoming three courses in July. Book in early to avoid missing out!

08.01.2022 As part of our continual improvement to deliver better training we've been monitoring our feedback for our IRATA courses Our Training Manager Chris Davies has been rated an average of 4.79 out of 5 as an Instructor, which is testament to the 17 odd years he has been involved with training and rope access as well as our commitment to provide Assistant Instructors on larger courses. Some recent feedback: +"Chris and Eddy are really good of what they do! Myself and my colleague ...had a great time during the course. Good job guys..." +"I'm extremely grateful to Chris. He is a legend. Thank you a lot :))" +"Both Chris and Eddy are great trainers" +"Chris and Eddy are really good of what they do!" 06.01.2022 A good development for all in the working at height industry.

05.01.2022 Did you know? IRATA TACS Section 6.4.9.1 Overview: Retrievable rigging methods (often called pull-throughs) allow ropes to be installed or retrieved remotely. They should be considered to be temporary rigging for access or egress and, therefore, are not normally considered appropriate for rescues.
