21.01.2022 Breaking South Australia News More than 100 Police Officers in quarantine as South Australia goes into Lockdown Amid Corona Virus Outbreak South Australian Commissioner Stevens said more than 100 police officers were currently in self-quarantine.... "We had 99 police officers from the cluster associated with Peppers, and as a result of activity at the Lyell McEwin Hospital there were a further 18 police officers who were required to quarantine," he said. "A lot of those officers are expected to come away from quarantine quite quickly. "As for the officers involved in the Peppers, essentially most of them are likely to have to do the 14 days quarantine." About 5,000 people in total are in quarantine. Chief Public Health Officer Professor Nicola Spurrier said the particular strain of the virus in South Australia was breeding "very, very rapidly" with a short incubation period of about 24 hours, and with infected people showing only minimal symptoms. Police Commissioner Grant Stevens said there would be a further eight-day period of significant restrictions, with some "concessions", after the initial six-day "circuit breaker". SA Premier Steven Marshall called the measures a necessary "circuit breaker" to allow for a contact tracing blitz on cases linked to the Parafield cluster. "We continue to face our biggest test to date," he said. outh Australia will be ordered into a major lockdown for six days in what the State Government has labelled a "circuit breaker", as authorities scramble to contain a coronavirus outbreak. FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT, FOR THE NEXT SIX DAYS, ALL SCHOOLS, PUBS, CAFES, TAKEAWAY FOOD OUTLETS AND THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY WILL CLOSE. EXERCISE WILL BE BANNED OUTSIDE THE HOUSE. People will be restricted from going outside their homes. Only one person per household will be able to leave the home each day, but only for specific purposes. People are being encouraged to wear masks whenever they are outside their homes. Universities and all outdoor sport will be shut down, while elective surgery will cease. Weddings and funerals will also be banned. Urgent operations and cancer treatment will be allowed to go ahead. Only children of essential workers will be allowed to attend school in-person. 18.01.2022 Let’s Celebrate and mark India Independence Day 2020: History; Culture; Food; Bollywood; Art and great importance and significance of the day. On 15 August 1947, the first Prime Minister of independent India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru hoisted the national flag at the Lahori Gate of Red Fort in New Delhi. On August 15, 1947 India had achieved independence after years of struggle. ... On this day, it ceased to be a colonial nation and secured full autonomy from the British that ruled over it for years. The day holds great significance in the heart of every Indian citizen living in India and abroad. On August 15, 2020, India would have achieved 73 years of freedom. As such, this year marks the 74th Independence Day of the country. While it is a celebratory annual occasion and a national holiday, wherein people hoist the national flag, wear colours signifying the tricolour, take part in many games and cultural programmes, it also coincides with the Partition of the country that brings back painful memories, given that India was severed on communal grounds, much to the dismay of many national leaders and ordinary citizens. 15.01.2022 Breaking US News Atlanta Police officer who killed Rayshard Brooks charged with murder The Atlanta Police officer who shot and killed Rayshard Brooks at a Wendys parking lot last week has been charged with felony murder, and the other officer on scene was charged with aggravated assault, Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard announced today.... The decision comes just five days after Brooks was shot twice in the back in Atlanta during an attempted arrest. Officer Garrett Rolfe, who fired the fatal shots, has already been fired, and officer Devin Brosnan, who was also on scene, has been put on administrative duty. After shooting Brooks, Rolfe said "I got him" and kicked him, and Brosnan then stood on Brooks shoulder, Howard said. The officers did not provide medical aid to Brooks for over two minutes after shooting him, Howard said. 15.01.2022 Breaking Australia News Another Police Brutality in Australia Police officials say they are investigating an incident in which officers were filmed pinning an Indigenous man to the ground, with claims one officer punched the man while arresting him in Adelaide, South Australia.... The incident happened on Albert St, Kilburn, about 9.30pm yesterday. The video was posted on social media this morning. Witnesses claim it shows officers using excessive and unnecessary force to arrest Noel Henry, 28. Those witnesses allege it all unfolded because Mr Henry was riding a bike without a light or helmet. Police say they were originally called to a report of domestic violence, in which a woman was hurt and taken to hospital. Police is Australia are projecting more violence and criminal behaviour than criminals themselves. Members of the public are encouraged to take live videos of Police brutality and attacks on the public. Public could also capture live videos of officers doing illegal activities which is not part of their job description in their uniforms and while on duties. 14.01.2022 Breaking International News USA Elections 2020 Democrat Joe Biden has won Arizona and its 11 electoral votes, flipping a critical battleground state that Donald Trump won four years ago.... The victory by Mr Biden is a blow to Mr Trump's chances for re-election, with the state backing a Democratic presidential candidate only once in the past 72 years. Neither candidate has the 270 electoral college votes needed to win the presidency, with Mr Trump claiming the battlegrounds of Florida, Ohio and Iowa, while Mr Biden won the more modest prizes of Minnesota and New Hampshire. Races are too early to call in some other critical states on the map, including North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Mr Biden has taken a slim lead in the Wisconsin race, a state which voted for Mr Trump in 2016. Mr Biden, 77, is now eyeing the so-called 'blue wall' states of Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania that sent Mr Trump, 74, to the White House in 2016. Mr Biden also won at least three of Maine's four electoral votes, prevailing in the statewide tally and the 1st Congressional District, good for three electoral votes. Mr Trump, meanwhile, hoped to claim one electoral vote in the 2nd Congressional District, which hasn't yet been called. Maine split its electoral votes four years ago, awarding three to Democrat Hillary Clinton and one to Mr Trump. 12.01.2022 Breaking NZ News 7.4 magnitude earthquake shakes New Zealands East Coast - No Tsunami Warnings Issued A 7.4 magnitude earthquake has struck off of New Zealands East Coast in the early hours of this morning.... A earthquake hit 710 kilometres north-east of Gisborne at 12.49am.(NZ Local time). Despite initial fears of a tsunami after the quake and social media reports that some residents had moved to higher ground in some areas - officials later said there was no threat. The earthquake, 710km northeast of Gisborne and 33km deep, was listed as "weak" by GeoNet but was felt across much of the east coast including Hawkes Bay this morning. More than 8900 people - including residents in Napier, Hastings, Gisborne, Bay of Plenty and Wellington - registered feeling the quake at 12.50am. People across New Zealand - including Auckland, Coromandel and Christchurch also reported feeling it. Chatham Islands resident Matt McKay told local media, saying that, its the first quake hes ever experienced on the islands. "I was sitting at the sofa, and I thought what the devils that. There was no noise with it, but the sofa felt like someone was in the back hitting it with their fists. The Civil Defence national emergency management agency issued an advisory shortly after to say it was reviewing any tsunami threat and advised residents in coastal areas to monitor media for updates, stay out of the water and stay off beaches, and not to go sightseeing. At 1.45am, it issued a statement saying: "Based on current information, the initial assessment is that the earthquake is unlikely to have caused a tsunami that will affect New Zealand."
