08.01.2022 February 13, 2008 was an incredible moment in Australian history, a day when our nation came together to acknowledge the pain and suffering of indigenous Australians and the day the Prime Minister said sorry on behalf of the Australian Parliament. Today is National Sorry Day, which marks the beginning of Reconciliation Week. Together we recognise and celebrate Australia’s journey towards reconciliation, with this year's theme ‘More than a word’ we are encouraged to take more... meaningful actions in our efforts as we strive for reconciliation. On National Sorry Day we remember all the grief, pain and injustice experienced by the stolen generations who were forcibly removed from their families and country, and the anniversary of the Bringing them Home Report by the Australian Human Rights Commission. We at the BUSY Group are about more than words through the implementation of our reconciliation action plan, which outlines our mission to provide equal opportunities for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and our commitment to reconciliation. Watch this clip from Reconciliation Australia that shows Kevin Rudd saying sorry on behalf of the Australian Parliament. It includes interviews, stories and many special moments, such as the first Welcome to Country in the Federal Parliament. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Dild-xAzJ0
