24.01.2022 Return to On-Site Learning: Yesterday The Victorian Government announced that regional and rural communities will progress to the Third Step of the roadmap for reopening from 11:59pm Wednesday 16 September 2020. The Department of Education and Training further announced that primary schools in regional and rural Victoria will return to on-site learning from Monday 5th October. Although principals can stagger the return to on-site learning during that week, all Apsley Primary School students will now return to school on Monday 5th October. We are all excited!
23.01.2022 Crazy hair day pics.
22.01.2022 As the Hard Border Closures cast a doubt over so many things for our little school (nothing we cant work through) we would love to do a shout out to one of my Principal friends who made these groovy masks for the staff. We offered to pay for them but due to the current times she was keen to just pay it forward. Thanks KJ. Xx
21.01.2022 Thank you to the Treglown family for the pumpkin donation. We put it to good use. Sweet potato and pumpkin frittata and pumpkin muffins.

19.01.2022 Did you know that today is Victorian Principals Day? Apsley Primary school is so lucky to have Mrs Turner leading our school, teaching our kids and giving up her free time dedicating herself to improving the school and community for the sake of everyone else. I know she would say its not just me, I have a fantastic team supporting me which she absolutely does, but I think you will all agree with me when I say that she goes above and beyond to meet the needs of each stude...nt whilst also keeping up with all of the other demands, especially during these insane times! And most importantly, she genuinely cares and loves her students and their families, hence why she cant help but get choked up when giving her speech at every Christmas concert Ive been too. So heres to an amazing Principal! May the coffee be strong and the school jumpers be labeled. Thank you, from me (Nik), all of your staff, students and the whole school community, including all of the animals! #countryschool #ittakesavillage #victorianprincipalsday Tanya Turner See more
19.01.2022 Wow. What a week it has been. The reopening of the borders and having Chanel 9 here on Thursday. A huge thank you to Leah and her army for making the nomination. So I didnt cry on air, but did when I read all the beautiful messages and phone calls I recieved. Like I always say, I have an amazing team who support me, this includes all the staff, parents, my family and the community. I couldnt do what I do without you all. The village I live in is truly amazing! Look at all those beautiful faces, who make my day everyday. They certainly scored lots of goodies - thank you to Rebel Sport and Officeworks. Lets hope 2020 has taken a turn for the better!

We thank you all for understanding and hope you all stay safe- Nikiesha Pilgrim x
18.01.2022 Another cooking session - cream of cauliflower and Parmesan cheese soup and mini quiches. We delivered these today to the older residents of the community. Both parties get a great deal of satisfaction out of this. The elderly enjoying seeing the students smiling faces and the students getting satisfaction out of making others happy.
18.01.2022 Our year six girls received their year six jumpers last week and dont they look amazing? Thanks Michelle for the design and Della for the printing. Im sure the girls are wearing while home schooling!

15.01.2022 Science today - learning about forces, pulling, pushing and gravity. How gorgeous are these kids!!!
14.01.2022 BACK TO SCHOOL IN COUNTRY VIC To avoid any confusion, todays announcement of a return to home schooling is ONLY relevant to Melbournes locked down subu...rbs. Schools in country Vic will still welcome students back on campus this week. Restrictions still apply so parents should keep their distance, especially from teachers, and keep your kids home if theyre sick. So rather than dread the thought of home schooling again (for now anyway!), we can go back to dreading the forgotten lunchbox or banana festering in a schoolbag over the holidays instead.
14.01.2022 While the students have been away online / remote learning we have been doing a few renovations. Our unused shelter shed has now been converted into our new music and Japanese room. A huge thank you must go to Jim Vine & crew, Jamie Makin, Buckley Electrical, Nifty, Harry Ostendorf, Adrian and Sam! We cant believe the transformation and it couldnt have been done without the help from the people above. It is now an amazing learning space. The last of our auction money has been spent on this project, so thank you the community for your continual support.
14.01.2022 A busy morning with the students today. Placing white ribbons on the fence at the park for white ribbon day and then off to the post office to post our Santa letters. Skeleton staff and students due to the hard border closures but we had a great day. Thanks Mrs Rainsford and Bernie for helping out!
13.01.2022 SAKG - cooking. This week we decided to start using some of the things out of the freezer before the end of the year. Curried sausages in lettuce cups and basic cream muffins using the abundance of eggs we have.

09.01.2022 Today the students made a yummy lunch Creamy Bacon and Mushroom Carbonara with their home grown mushrooms plus mini meringues filled with lemon curd (lemons from our tree) decorated with chocolate. Both dishes were favourites and scored 10/10!

08.01.2022 Agriculture plays a huge part in our curriculum and our student’s everyday lives. Today we celebrated National Agriculture Day. Given the current times we wanted to thank our farmers for all their hard work and for keeping the country going. I think the kids have hit the nail on the head with some of their messages.
07.01.2022 Cup Day fun at Apsley Primary School. Local bookie Gatlan McLean set the board, zoom in to have a look at his creativity! Fashion on the fields was won by Maggie M (the queen) and Greg! Congratulations to all for a great day.

06.01.2022 Happy belated birthday to our handyman and gardener Bob! Thanks to Janet for organising such a scrumptious cake.
05.01.2022 What a beautiful gesture from one of our gorgeous students and her family. We have all been working hard preparing our remote / online lessons for a month, as we are unsure when all these beautiful staff members will be able to cross the border to prepare learning packs or even teach again! Yes it has been stressful but we have stood united as a team like always, and will get through this step by step. These beautiful flowers certainly brightened our day. Xx
05.01.2022 In Mrs Farrers classroom today we measured the distance apart we had to be in pairs so that the trajectory of our catapulted candy would safely land in our mouths! The aim was to also calculate the velocity of the candy as it moved through space. Lots of fun in Maths and incorporating a little Science ... who knew learning could be so sweet!
05.01.2022 George loves keeping up with whats going on at Apsley School, just as much as we love sharing it with him.
05.01.2022 Footy Colours Day! Thanks for the yummy lunch Sam and Sarah Fengler! The soup was beautiful!
03.01.2022 Another day cooking up a storm! We get that busy we forget to take progress photos. Main meal today was chicken and bok choy stir fry. We added lots of green vegetables to build up our vitamin and fibre intake. Sweets was mandarin weetbix slice, using our endless supply of our home grown mandarins. Also keep your eye out for the SRC’s Cookbook that we are putting together at the moment. We are compiling all the recipes we have made over the past few years. Will be a great gift for loved ones for Christmas.
03.01.2022 Science with Mrs Farrer
02.01.2022 What a beautiful afternoon to be outside attending to our animals. A huge thank you must go to Bec and Matt for the donation of five lambs and to the Hockings for two! As you can see they have many carers! We are so lucky to have an amazing space for all of these extra curricula activities plus the support of our families and wider community.
02.01.2022 As our ISO remote / online learning is coming to an end, the students who have been at school had a little bonfire celebration! (They cant wait for all the other students to return on Tuesday)Jacket potatoes with coleslaw followed by toasted marshmallows. This has been a trying time for all and everyone - students, parents and all staff must be congratulated on how well they adapted with online learning. Here are a few pics of the last 6 weeks. Just a reminder that Monday is a pupil free day and we will see ALL students back at school on Tuesday due to the small school exemption. Enjoy the weekend.
02.01.2022 Pretty sure our staff feel like this!
02.01.2022 We are certainly getting some Media time this week. Nine news tonight, ten tomorrow night, Advocate and now this! https://www.facebook.com/108628014160547/posts/165062671850414/
