05.01.2022 Telopea 'Shady Lady Pink'. I always think the best time to prune Waratah's is when they're in flower. This one has been blocked from good light access for some time by some other shrubs which have recently been cut back very hard so I figured it was a good opportunity to give this one a good hard prune as well. I cut the various flowering stems to the length I needed for the vase then took them further back to the second last leaf on each branch. This will promote strong spring and summer growth from the dormant buds at these leaf nodes, with the promise of terminal flowers next spring.
