03.01.2022 PROJECT: Bolte Tower 11, Yarra’s Edge development, Docklands 43 floor mixed use tower, newly developed by Mirvac Scope: ... Weather sealing between the splice plates and sub seals as well as around the door frames and balustrades. Product used: B&L 193 Black Silicone - one part, neutral cure sealant specifically designed for use in general purpose glazing and weather seal applications Applicator: @jmc_facades (with Austech Facades) This project presented a unique challenge after issues arose with products not adhering to the waterproofing membrane used. After extensive testing on a range of products, our B&L 193 Silicone was the only product that could achieve 100% adhesion with the membrane and provide a complete seal between the aluminium and the waterproofing on the hobs. APTC Australia was on site late last year to monitor the performance and application of the silicone supplied and were extremely satisfied with the result. With work underway on the 35th floor at the time of our visit, the development of this project is still ongoing and we continue to follow its progression towards completion.
