24.01.2022 Hydraulic systems are used in a wide range of industries. However, if we don't think about the other applications of hydraulics we can miss out on opportunities for growth in our careers and our knowledge. That's why over the next few weeks we'll be highlighting the different industries that use hydraulics and where you might not expect them!... Today we'll be talking about the aviation industry. Hydraulics are one of the key elements that keep our aviation industry running. Aviation hydraulic systems are used to help control and manage equipment such as brakes, flaps, thrust reversers, flight controls, and of course, landing gear. Hydraulic systems are the preferred system because they offer the perfect amount of pressure to operate these systems. Have you ever looked at the application of fluid power in aviation?

22.01.2022 During the recent lockdowns APT had to close to face to face students for while to ensure the safety of both our staff and students. However, as education is seen as essential if certain elements cannot be completed online we are proud to announce that we have adopted a new plan to ensure our students receive the best training in the safest environment possible. We have been in consultation with all stakeholders in our business to develop a plan that will minimize the risks ...to our Students, Staff, Suppliers and other Sites we visit. The decision has been made by APT that as of 22/9/2021, we will be resuming practical bookings for students with the following conditions: 1. Students in areas which are NOT under stay-at-home orders may visit our site 2. Students in areas which are under stay-at-home orders however, the following must be provided before attending our site - Proof of a negative test, conducted within 72 hours of attending our site. 3. We will NOT be taking bookings for students from areas of concern or hotspots as per the nsw.gov.au website (but we are excited to have you back when things settle down!). If you are a current student looking to book in your practical elements check your emails as you should have more information coming to you in the next 24 hours (if you haven't received it already). If you have any questions please feel free to reach out.

21.01.2022 When a lot of you think of APT you probably think about workplace safety. (And if that's the case, that's great!). But did you know there is more to our mission than just safety? We put the humans first at our business. That's why connection is something that we focus on. ... Even though we aim to be a business not bound by geography and offering training to as many people as possible, we also want to keep that human element present and pass on that ability for connection to our students. Technology enables us, connection empowers us and our students to achieve extraordinary things. Every program we run in building technical skills as well as leadership skills in our students and ultimately, we are all leaders in one way or another. Due to this focus on both safety and human connection our overarching goal is to influence 1,000,000 tradies to be happier, safer, more efficient and more fulfilled in their chosen engineering career. We know this isn't going to happen overnight but we hope that you will come with us on the journey to create a more connected and safer industry.

21.01.2022 Welcome to another APT team spotlight! Today we wanted to introduce you to more of our training team. Joel is a down to earth trainer who is always looking for how he can better help his teams and his students. ... He really embraces our company virtues and has been stepping up to lend a helping hand to the other trainers and the marketing team this year. Joel brings a very grounded energy to everything that he does, and this energy gives others around him a chance to breathe and think clearly making him the perfect trainer for our students. We love everything you've been doing recently Joel, thanks for being part of our team!

17.01.2022 TIME FOR A NEW INDUSTRY SPOTLIGHT! Another industry that uses hydraulics in a lot of its day to day procedures is food production. In food production things like maintenance are extremely important because if there is a leak then all potentially contaminated product needs to be disposed of, meaning not only do they lose the time it takes to do the maintenance but potentially all the work that was completed prior to noticing the problem. ... One specific area of food production we would like to highlight is the dairy industry. Hydraulics are extremely important in making sure that milk is safely transported from the cow to the bottle and all the steps in between. Is this an industry you have ever considered joining in your hydraulics career?

15.01.2022 Celebrating our team. This week we wanted to give a shout out to another one of our ripple creators Scott Hayes. Scott has been with the APT team for over 10 years now and has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to training students. ... Scott loves being out on the road and travelling to help students learn the skills that are going to help them succeed in the workplace. If you have been one of our lucky advanced diploma students you will know first hand exactly how hard Scott works to make sure our students understand every step of the process. Thank you for your hard work over the years Scott, our team is grateful to have you.

08.01.2022 Industry spotlight! Last week we started highlighting different industries that use hydraulics to get you all thinking about your career progression. This week's industry comes from some great feedback we received last week. ... One of our community members has been using our resources to help them in their team who work with wind turbines. The muscle that pitches wind-turbine blades can come from either a hydraulic or electric device on most turbines rated at and below 2.5 MW. But for turbines over 3 MW, the job of pitching blades more often falls to hydraulics. And hydraulics can handle more. Hydraulics in wind turbines usually refers to the assemblies for brake control and regulating the blade setting through pitch control, said Bob Pettit, Corporate Technical Director at HAWE Hydraulics. Is this an industry you would be interested in working in?

04.01.2022 What does Team:Engineered mean to you? Team:Engineered to me is helping provide our community with all of the things I wish I had known earlier in my business ...building and team building journey. The things we are often told to overlook because people tell us they take to much time or they don't apply to our industry. The things that keep our teams safe and prevent high staff turnover. But instead of me and my co-host simply talking about what we think would be good for you to know we'd love to hear more about what you want to know about. So what is Team:Enigneered to you?

02.01.2022 It's officially week 5 of the 6 Week's Solid Challenge. I went into this challenge wanting a reset. And it's honestly been extremely helpful. ... As I've gotten on top of things for myself everything else seems to have fallen into place. Making better decisions for myself helps me make better decisions for those around me as a leader. Whether that's realising when I need a break, or when I'm making excuses to avoid taking time for myself. The community has been amazing as well, everyone supporting each other and realising they've created habits or routines they didn't even know they needed. We've documented the whole journey so if you would like to start this 6 week challenge, you still can! Just comment "6 WEEKS" and we'll make sure to add you to the group so you can see what it's all about.
