10.01.2022 OPENING THE BOATHOUSE Subject to the CovidSafe plan. FISHING COMPETITIONS RESTART Eddy Bernobich, the Boathouse Captain, and the Boathouse and Fishing Sub-Committees want to see boats on the water, and Fishing competitions resume as quickly as possible.... To facilitate this re-opening they have reviewed the CovidSafe principles and believe you can adhere to these by implementing the following: Limiting entry to boat owners, guests, and contractors only at one control point, refer Boathouse entry sign. Implementing a Boathouse Attendance Register which complies with the required format. Installing the appropriate hand-washing and personal hygiene posters throughout the boathouse. Installing additional hand sanitiser stations (pump bottles) in toilet, workshop, one in each aisle, as well as the current dispenser at the entry. Installing disinfectant spray bottles (6) throughout the boathouse, (hospital grade, already provided ex Men’s Shed). Displaying ‘No Entry’ signs at other external entry points. Boatowners can access the Boathouse from tomorrow (Monday), and are able to launch their boats from midnight on Friday. They are individually responsible for ensuring that they, and their crew, comply with the Boathouse rules and the CovidSafe plan. Please ensure there are no more than two boats being handled in any aisle, and that you read, and follow, the documents and the signs in the boathouse. The Angling ( Fishing) Committee will advise the new dates for the Fishing competitions. We also want to bring your attention to the fact that there are presently four clinker boats for sale, and one fibreglass boat with an outboard motor. For further information about the Boathouse please contact Eddy Bernobich on [email protected] or Bob Small on [email protected] For information about the Fishing competitions please contact Anthony Osborne on [email protected] or Alex Spyrou on [email protected]

05.01.2022 A REAL CHARACTER When I joined APY&AC, Ron Amy was our president. I was made to feel welcome by Ron Amy, Ray O’Keefe, and many other members of our club. This had a huge influence on me to want to be involved with our club. Ron was a real character who loved having a beer and talking to all his friends. When Ron stepped down as President, he took on the Boat House Captain’s position working on our club boats with Mal Manders. Also taking bookings for boat hire.... Ron’s commitment with Eddie to APY&AC was outstanding and he will be sadly missed by all our members. Tight lines Philip Langdon
