25.01.2022 Hi all - hope you are well and enjoying the return to the new normal. Our classes are at 5.30pm - Monday and Wednesday. Parap pool is a beautiful facility with temperature control - the only heated public pool in Darwin. Not that we’ve really had a dry season to date It has full shade if you prefer to keep out of the sun.... Come along for a visit and a gorgeous way to exercise- trust me the water is very therapeutic and totally adds to your wellbeing. Hope to see you soon.

25.01.2022 Wouldn’t it be amazing if you opened the door and could hear everyone clapping and cheering streets apart Remember Ladies and Gents, on Sunday 29th March at ...7pm can you all either stand on your doorsteps or open a window and clap and cheer as loudly as you can for all the frontline workers - Medical professionals and staff, carers, food and medicine delivery drivers, shop workers and anyone else on the frontline, risking their own lives to makes yours better. Let's try and get this around the country Please share and keep it moving to as many as we can

25.01.2022 Hello aqua lovers - checking in ! How are you travelling with no aqua? At any rate, a good time to share Easter buns and chocolate with your family. Here’s what I made today- you’re not surprised- apricot balls and fig/prune/apricot/coconut balls. No chocolate in sight. that’s not to say there are no Easter eggs at my house ! Happy Easter!

23.01.2022 Hi all Wednesday 20/1 is Colleen’s funeral. A Celebration of her life will be held from 4.30-5.00 that day, details to be confirmed. For this reason- there will be no aqua class on Wednesday 5.30 on 20/1. I’ll provide an update on the event once it has been confirmed.... Just confirming no aqua class 20/1. 22.01.2022 Hello everyone ! Aqua classes are returning to Parap Pool Mondays and Wednesdays at 5.30, starting on 18/5. We are not sure yet whether there will be a class on Saturdays as the YMCA has not decided to hold any until the next restrictions lift. In accordance with the COVID-19 protocols: Do not attend if you are unwell... Wash your hands frequently Maintain the 1.5 distance I will handle all equipment outside of the pool. Clients take the equipment from the edge and then return it to the edge at end of class, when I will handle it. I will have hand sanitiser for myself for packing equipment. Note that the YMCA will be managing the social distancing for the complex, eg entry, kiosk, ablutions. We are responsible for teh space occupied for the class - poolside and in the pool. The water is starting to cool off, so bring warm towels or jackets for after class. Hope to see you soon.

21.01.2022 In loving memory of Colleen, she passed away today after a two year battle with lung cancer. Colleen loved her aqua- attending classes from the original Beaufort hotel pool (now Doubletree), to old Parap, Ski club and back to Parap. She cracked out her wetsuit every Dry season. Rest In Peace beautiful soul - you will be missed.

16.01.2022 Hello everyone Following the Chief Minister’s announcement today, we will need to wait for the YMCA/Council to conduct the risk assessment and determine how and when Parap pool will reopen. We’ll keep you posted and hope to be back in the water soon - in time for the Dry season- so dust off your wetsuits too.

07.01.2022 Hi everyone- hope you are ready to wind down after a busy (not normal) year. For those not travelling- our last 2020 class will be Wednesday 23/12. First class for 2021 will be on 4 January. As always during the wet, check this page for any pool closures caused by storms.
