20.01.2022 Wastewater treatment is the need for this hour considering the adverse condition of water throughout the world. However, the wastewater treatment process in use nowadays has a large carbon footprint due to its high energy requirement. Aquaener has proudly developed a new technology, which is energy efficient and low sludge producing with almost 95% COD reducing capabilities. Moreover, capex is also relatively low due to a smaller footprint as compared to conventional treatment plants. The new technology based on microorganisms carbon storage capabilities is under pilot plant stage and will soon hit the market.

09.01.2022 Aquaener participated in the international seminar for sustainable water management at Pekhalongan Indonesia. The purpose of the exercise was to understand and provide solutions for the existing saltwater intrusion problem in some of the coastal parts of Indonesia. Its been recorded in some studies that some coastal cities of Indonesia are sinking 15 cm per year. We went for some site visits as part of Australian delegate and found that the sea water has covered acres of land... up to 2 m height. People lost their agriculture land and forced to live in flooded conditions. Basic amenities of life such as the sewage system, clean drinking water are also badly affected by the situation. One of the main reason of saltwater intrusion and land subsidence is excessive groundwater extraction and less recharge. Moreover, Indonesia is the country that contains the most active volcanoes of all countries in the world. The Eurasian Plate, Pacific Plate and Indo-Australian Plate are three active tectonic plates that cause the subduction zones. This geological process is also taking part in the subsidence of land. As a solution to the problem, it was suggested to Revive and maintain the water balance in the region via regulating groundwater extraction, rainwater harvesting, managed aquifer recharge with treated wastewater, use proper treatment plants for batik ( traditional textile dying) industry effluent before discharging into rivers.
